i would just say pay the fine, like 5 pound a month, its ok for other people saying dont pay it ..but if it all goes wrong there not going help

Given it is going to court there is very little to be gained by paying it now.

Sounds like it's just shocking advice. Okay thanks. I'm going to spend the weekend researching and writing my defence. There are 3/4 questions on the form I need to answer. Anything I should definitely mention/avoid or any cases I should look at would be appreciated. I will post what I come up with here before sending off the forms

@prosaver - you continue to offer advice here, yet all you do is expose your total lack of any basic understanding of any of this. Have you no sensitivity?

If you want to contribute here in a meaningful and helpful way to OPs, why not just come by each day, read what's going on, learn bits at a time, then start to advise on some of the basics, until you work your way up the knowledge ladder when you can then start to get involved in and give insightful advice on some of the more complex issues - as we all have had to.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Whereas advising the OP to pay up in a case that is easily winnable is very helpful???

Jeez, between you and the CAB this poor chap is gonna have to remortgage his house.

Even if he went to court and lost he would likely end up paying less than what they're asking for now.

I have been here about 4 years and have NEVER seen anyone who knows about these matters tell somebody to IGNORE a court case

that would be stupid and stupid advice costs those who listen money

the same bad advice happened yesterday on a TOC thread and it took some time to get the OP to listen to those who know and to ignore the stupid advice being given

in that thread a qualified solicitor actually gave the advice by myself and others a thumbs up, and a thumbs down to those who had given the poor advice
