It's a pretty sad state of affairs when people want David Cameron back. What were the majorities though?
In 2010 GE, there was a 13,500 Labour majority, in 2015, there was a 13,000 SNP majority. So the idea that even a 14,000 majority is unassailable is nonsense. You just need enough people to turn up to vote :j0 -

...
Maybe there is a bit more to this though.
Again, relating to my own constituency.
The current LibDem candidate is being compared (unfavourably) with the LibDem we had in the coallition who had greater stature and a bigger presence in parliament.
Now, given that LibDems dropped down from 50 odd seats to under 10, this sort of comparison could be played out elsewhere.
It's not just LibDem. I look at the Labour shadow cabinet, and there is a real lack of experience for a period of office which will require real gravitas.
It is a bit unfair, because it pre-judges the effects the lack of experience will have.0 -

Do you honestly believe that TM is a better leader?
It's all about her, not a sign of a true leader. She is not inspiring.
She's trying to be the next Iron Lady, but she is woefully short in the qualities.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

Not at all; I'd rather have David "Pigs Ear" Cameron.
But that said, I'd rather have pretty much anybody else.0 -

You get my point then that the PM is far from a strong leader.
If the Conservatives fail to get a majority as per the recent polls, I think she would step down with her tail between her legs.
She's clearly not up to the job.:wall:

It's difficult to envisage TM being a good leader. She called an election apparently unaware that Brexit talks would be starting this summer. One can only imagine that she wouldn't have risked a different party leading the talks as that would have been utterly reckless. I therefore think that she's simply a bit forgetful.0

I think she is better for the next phase of Brexit.
Cameron to me was all about marketing. That is his background.
May has shown that she will be prepared to upset people. She is a lot more like Merkel than Cameron.
I don't have to like the woman. I don't have to like her dress sense. I just want the toughest team for the Brexit fight.0 -
Anyway may called a election cant see the problem
Could I suggest that May herself could possibly now see a problem with what she has done, the way things have gone in the past few days!'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.
Note: win, draw or lose (not 'loose' - opposite of tight!)0 -

Can things get even more dirty?
I truly have lost count of how many times I have heard the DA gaffe during the LBC interview.
If it does, the facts will be lost in the political fog.0 -

For me, the failing is how you project the strong stance you are taking.
Mays stance of shouting it loud and proud is not strong in my opinion and at risk of simply being bluster. All words an no negotiating tactic.
By all means, be strong and tough in negotiation, but do it in a way that you are at least attempting to negotiate.
We don't see Merkel as per your example acting as May has.:wall:
