Anyone else find the interior of BMW cars very ugly?

Costs are pretty ugly, but then I find Beamer's refinement to be up there with some of the best.
All depends how much disposable you have I suppose
i did buy an X5 brand new back in 07 - £51,000 list price then including extras. Got it for £46,000 from memory.
One with the same spec now has a list price of over £60,000. Thats an awful lot of money for a car thats going to be worth maybe half that in three years time. :eek:0 -

Do you not like your Fiesta anymore?
(You actually kept track on what car I drive? Don't even remember the last time I posted about it)0 -

Some jump from a fiesta to a new X5.0 -
So special, Mercedes copied it in the GLE coupe... and Bentley thought there must be a demand for a Bentayga coupe ?????
There is a demand for them. A very small, but highly rewarding, demand among a very specific type of person. There's a Bentayga around here. It's even worse in the metal than it is in pictures.0 -

Sitting in the car, I was immediately put off by the interior. Similar to other Beemers I've sat in, the interior just looked dated. Take a look at the below, it's something I expect to see in a car from the 90s.
Ugly - no.
But they are enthusiasts/drivers cars - so do not appeal to all.0 -

Personally, I couldn't care less whether the dashboard is modern looking and 'on-trend'. As long as it's not offensive, beige, or missing essential features like cruise and climate control, the rest is immaterial.
I think you're very different to most people. Design is incredibly important. Very few people buy cars/houses/clothes etc. simply for their primary purpose without any consideration for how it looks. Otherwise we'd all just live in symmetrical brick cubes and wear grey cotton tunics.
Personally, I bought a BMW 4 series M Sport a few years ago. Saw it in the showroom and loved it. Drove it and loved it. But within six months, I had grown to hate it because of the interior. Everything was drab and black (apart from a blue stripe across the doors), the dials are very flat and the whole interior has no flair. And the LCD screen that looked like an afterthought really bugged me.
In the end I sold it after less than a year. The only thing I miss is the steering wheel - the most comfortable I've ever had.0 -

I'm guessing you're talking about BMW's intentions. Where i live it seems people are only enthusiastic about the badge. A friend of mine has admitted his 1 series always has a roof box on because he just wants a BMW and cannot afford anything else in the range, despite needing the space for his work gear... As with all of the "premium" brands I feel there are a lot of sheeple when it comes to picking a BMW.
Only BMW i have driven was a 2003 3 series. Drove nice, but i felt like i was being squashed into shoebox due to being a taller bulkier man. I ended up buying an 2004 Honda Accord. Same price but got far more car for my money (notably a CD player, BMW i test drove had a cassette deck!)
On the interior design point, i respect how BMW have kept the dash uncluttered and simple.0 -

You misunderstand me. I never said how the dashboard looks is of no concern to me; I don't want to sit staring at a dashboard made of Lego, or one with holes and misaligned panels.
What I mean (and thought I'd said) is that I couldn't give a monkey's whether the dashboard is 'modern' looking; or whether it is following design or fashion trends. I want a functional dashboard which doesn't look offensive (or beige), and which has all the bits I need attached.
I don't give a damn whether it's 'soooo last year dahling' or made from the latest alloy of miraculium and neverfoundium.
Its appearance is important - a nice dashboard from 1967 is still a nice dashboard today, but I don't really care if my car's dashboard was designed this year or five years ago. Who the hell decides what is 'in' in dashboard/interior design this year and what's 'out'? It's as arbitrary a concept as the ludicrousness of fashion trends. I don't get them either.0
