Best Currency for Turkey

The obvious answer is that you need Turkish lira (TL).
Like other posters I've always taken sterling in cash and changed it day to day. I think it's a throw back to when inflation was rampant in Turkey and so it made sense. You can change money anywhere like shops and restaurants . Since the PTT (Post Office) was nationalised a couple of years ago the rates and hours of business are better elsewhere.
I also have a credit card for any emergencies (or unexpected handbag purchases) and my bar bill that doesn't charge fees.0 -
