I am about to join you
Am down to the final 3k. My mortgage is £1800 a month. Paid off 18500 this morning as a savings account matured. Just got the last 3k to go so am planning on next months payment being my last as I will find that last 1k somewhere to clear it in full

Mortgage started at 250k in 2014. My 2.79% fixed rate ended last month so chucking everything at it as now on variable.
    Exciting!
£1800 is a huge amount to have surplus every month, do you have plans for it?

My fixed rate ended in March so I've also been on the variable rate. Went from 1.7% to over 6%, ouch!

    Thanks!
Gosh these dark mornings and evenings are tough. I'm still waiting for my DBS check to start the new job but when I do start it's gonna be during the darkest mornings and I'm not used to leaving the house that early. Hoping new job energy will power me through!

My first non mortgage payment has been used to purchase a new toilet and sink for my downstairs toilet, plus I'm going to get the boiler serviced whilst the plumber's here fitting it. Very exciting!

I've just had roof insulation put in, which was done for free using the government scheme. I'm hoping this will reduce my gas bill. It already feels warmer upstairs than downstairs!

I've just opened a Chase account and put most of my savings in there at 4.5%. Happy with that. Already filled up the S&S ISA so can't do anything with that until April.

Still no sign of my DBS...
