I've been in my new job for 2 months now. On the very first shift they changed all the new starters contracts so I'm working an extra day that I don't really want to work!
They've also said we'll be kept on permanently after the 3 months, but I can't do these hours long term, they don't work with childcare.
However, I've been offered a part time teaching assistant job which I'll be starting once all DBS checks are through. I'm going to juggle both jobs for a while until I know if I like the new job enough to leave the other.

I had the home declutterer round as part of my birthday present and made a big dent in some areas which had been a mess for a long time. I've now been on a 2 month long momentum of sorting the house out and it's looking the best it's looked in years 😊

I still haven't paid the mortgage off as financial things are very up in the air due to personal circumstances. Hopefully things will be clearer in a few weeks and I'll know where I stand.

My current mortgage balance is £18,777.75. So close to the end!
I'm at the theatre tonight and out for a meal but need to do some household chores this afternoon.
Just shopped around for new home insurance. Renewal price was £348 but got it for £222.

I am about to join you
Am down to the final 3k. My mortgage is £1800 a month. Paid off 18500 this morning as a savings account matured. Just got the last 3k to go so am planning on next months payment being my last as I will find that last 1k somewhere to clear it in full

Mortgage started at 250k in 2014. My 2.79% fixed rate ended last month so chucking everything at it as now on variable.

    Thanks everyone.

Good question dawny. I'm not sure is the answer.
I would like to put it in my S&S ISA but I'm maxed out for the year as I put a large sum in my cash ISA in the summer. I feel like I should open up a private pension and add to that, but I'd rather have money I can access sooner rather than later.

    Any ideas?
I think I need to sit and work out where all my money is, as it's spread between multiple bank accounts, and see how I can best maximise interest rates.
