    I'm sure it does.
How do you find the time to reply to this when you must be so busy giving all your kind and helpful advice?
Thought about a career in the diplomatic service?
It's funny you should mention that, i haven't but i know i would be very good at it, look at the top notch advice i have given you ... A brilliant example of a shepherd bringing a way ward lamb back into the safety of reality. M advice has covered a lot of bases and that really nice Mickey Arison apparently pays me.

As far as time is concerned i am just surfing the web while watching 'untold stories of the ER' as i await HIGNFY to start and then we are heading out ... Just in time for all the old wrinklies to get ready for bed.

Thank you for that brief but fascinating glimpse of you home life. Its heartening to know.
As for the advice you have given me, can I suggest you stick it where the sun don't shine. Goodnight.
    And last word to me!:j

    Keep dreaming !!
If you struggle to cope with what has been (for the majority of people) a trivial payment issue then maybe electronic payment mechanisms are not for you - some days mistakes happen. As I said in an earlier post there are protections and safeguards in place for when such things happen and nobody has to be out any money.

You may be able to put the amount in dispute in which case a decent provider that you have history with may provide a facility to temporarily cover this. There really is no need to be a drama mama over this.

If you feel the need to demand compensation then I suggest you contact Elavon on the number you were supplied with. You can then detail your provable losses and they will refund them. The Carnival brands may offer to make a gesture of goodwill purely for publicity purposes - but be assured you will pay for that twice over when you next cruise.

On other boards, among the many over-reactions, I have just read some fool saying it is 'fraud' - they obviously have no idea what 'fraud' is - it was a 'mistake'. Not only that it has to have been one of the best responses to such a mistake I have seen - if only every company acted in the same way as Carnival when a sub contractor makes a mistake.

    Enjoy your cruise

Thank goodness it's the last word, this thread has gone so far off track that MSE are checking their SatNavs!

You are entirely missing the point. The amount is irrelevant. I have been internet banking since it all started and touchwood have never had a problem. I can honestly say I have never had a company take a random unauthorised sum for any account I have. Obviously in your world its a trivial matter and a regular occurrence. The reason there are many posts on this is because some people take it more seriously than you do. Its called a difference of opinion. Using words like 'fool' and ' drama mama' just make you look a idiot. We are all entitled to our views, or do you just haunt this site at 6.57am to make yourself feel that you are superior to other lesser mortals on this here?

The point seems to be that like me you suffered a minor inconvenience due to a mistake. Contrary to your opening post P&O (and other companies in the Carnival group) did send out an explanation assuring people it was an error, they are working to resolve it, it was not directly their fault and did not involve a data breach. Oh and you want to jump on the compo bandwagon.

I gave you advice including not making a mountain out of this molehill and, because it was not what you wanted to hear, you threw your toys about.

I then told you what you wanted hear and you threw your toys about even more.

Someone makes a mistake, they apologise for it, say they are addressing it (which, in the main, they have done), they are investigating why it happened, understand it and have probably put in place procedures to prevent it from happening again ..... What more do you want? Oh yes, i forgot, the compo bandwagon.

Anyone equating the incident to fraud is a total fool, pointing such idiocy out proves i understand what fraud is unlike the idiot who mentioned it (which was from another site) Maybe in your world honesty is idiotic

I am obviously superior to you, since i can handle issues with modern technology.
BTW i won't be able to play with you much tonight as i have much more important things to do than try to agree with people blowing things out of proportion, but don't fret i will get back to you in the morning if i feel the need to.

PS. Maybe if you have a BA flight booked you might get your compo, and in that case i would agree it was a bigger issue and you would be entitled to it.

  • Well, just adding my two pennies, I found P&O handles situations beyond their control very well.....in fact, in my situation (which affected the entire boat), we had management at Southampton when we were boarding & I made a point of personally telling them how well they handled it.

Don't worry, I respect your self-admission of being an idiot, but we have already established I am superior to you and because of that you have no hope of dragging me down to your level.

PS: I am finding Facebook and twitter hilarious at the minute with all the drama mamas over reacting ... #firstworldproblems.
