P & O Cruises took money from my account

I had an email from P&O informing me that they had mistakenly charged a number of accounts in error and mine was one of them. I duly noticed £195 was taken from my account and credited 3 days later. It could have caused some people a problem with bank charges and obviously should not have happened. No explanation has been given or any compo offered. Anyone else had a situation like this?

So you suffered no loss, therefore the "combo" owed is precisely £0.00.

If anyone has suffered loss P&O have stated they will refund the amount and associated costs incurred from being overdrawn etc etc.

I think the issue is more that a company can take money from your account for no reason and with no explanation. If they took it out of your back pocket and then offered it back 3 days later would you find that acceptable?
    And its compo, not combo.

I had £2700 as a pending payment , luckily on credit card. Loads of people had this , check fb and cruise critic.

I don't think anyone is saying its acceptable - just that unless you suffered a loss, you don't have a claim for compensation (or damages if you prefer) and would be reliant on goodwill.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

    I think you'll find it's 'compensation'! ;)

I will admit that he doesn't look happy so he might have had money taken as well.

We also got the letter apparently the issue was with people they use to collect money and not Carnival itself. In our case it looked some money was reserved but not actually taken, but it was all sorted out very quickly, with minimal disruption and hassle.

It is time people accepted that sometimes !!!! happens, the important thing is that they should be resolved efficiently. In this case Carnival appear to have reacted quickly, decisivly and efficiently.
