Thank you
The selling company is now ignoring my emails....good thing I'm planning on going down there on Saturday to take some measurements so I can ask them face to face!Debt Totals July 2019::

Mortgage in principle has been arranged
I have no idea if the rate I've been offered is competitive (2.51%) but I'm going to have a look around today to find out. My sister's mortgage was a measly 1.34% but I think hers was a bit of an outlier rather than the norm.
The broker did suggest that I reduce my deposit a bit so that I can have more for furniture, but I know myself and I know that if that happened, I would end up just frittering it all away on furniture. I'd rather self-impose a budget limit and get cheaper furniture instead!
This is really turning my SOA on its head, there are loads more things to pay for than I realised :rotfl: mortgage broker's fee, valuation fee for the mortgage, surveyor's fee...I did some property transactions in my time as a trainee, but all of that was usually dealt with by the time the file landed on my desk :rotfl:Debt Totals July 2019::

My LISA is now maxed out
Going to wait until the bonus is claimed and once that's done, I'm going to ask them to release the funds to the solicitor.

Oof - paid £700 to the mortgage broker and £250 to the solicitor today.
On the bright side, I have had confirmation of a £1,500 incentiveDebt Totals July 2019::

Oh that's great news. Glad that it has been confirmed as it will help towards all those annoying fees0

Annoyingly, I've checked and they're now offering an incentive of £5,000! Now, that would have made a big difference :rotfl:
Oh well.
Bought a sofa  £550!
Expected completion is around end of September/beginning of October, but my solicitor is really dragging her feet... I don't wanna be that client, because I hate when my clients constantly chase me, but I reallly reeeeally wanna complete ASAP
Mortgage valuation was today, haven't heard anything yet but should be fine....eek!
Job interview next week for a job with fewer responsibilities and a £15k pay rise, and OH had a job interview for somewhere 15 mins away from the new flat, with a £10k pay rise...and he thinks it went well! Fingers crossed! If all goes well, our combined income will increase by £25kpa and our expenses will decrease by roughly £500 per month!
Had a big fight with a close frienda few of our friends were in attendance and talking to them, I'm pretty certain I'm right, but she has never been the type to admit any wrong, so she has been a cold hard b!tch since our argument. Oh well, I've apologised earnestly for upsetting her and it's not my problem if she's going to carry on.
Feeling very poor now, have just about enough in my account to cover the deposit, fees and first month's mortgage  potentially last payday before completion is in 3 weeks....Debt Totals July 2019::

Exciting news that completion will hopefully be next month or October. Expensive time so good you keeping an eye on expenses and there is a £1500 incentive. It all helps.
Sorry about the falling out with the friend. These things happen and you can't do more than apologise for a quiet life. Some friends come and go though and if she is the type who never admits she is in the wrong and bears a grudge she may be one to let go. The older I have got the more I have realised that it is best to spend time with people who really value and appreciate you and support you and hopefully you do the same with them. Life is too short to waste time on people who do otherwise. Not money related so feel free to ignore

Such an expensive time! So many expenses I wasn't even aware of  I thought I had a nice £3-4k cushion to buy furniture...I was wrong :rotfl:
And you're absolutely right re: friend. It's difficult because she helped me through a really hard time in my life and I really leaned on her. She's usually a very good friend, very supportive, always there when you need her, always goes out of her way for you. But she's also very outspoken with strong opinions, and if you disagree with her or anything....
Anyway. Some excellent news! OH got the job! So he'll be getting a £10k pay rise and a step up his career ladder :T I'm so so so SO pleased!Debt Totals July 2019::

Wonderful news about OH and his new job. Excellent to have both a payrise and a nice short commute. Fingers crossed your interview next week has the same great result.0
