  • SQ I seem to recall that the advice on essential oils is to not use them if they've started to go off - but I could be wrong on that.

Homegrown same applies even just inside Scotland itself -= check out what you can buy for £200k in Edinburgh against the same figure in the Western Isles!

Luckily it's not an essential oil, but I've decided to get rid of it anyway because the smell makes me feel sick :o

Yes, you're right EH! Edinburgh is not cheap is it?

Oh silver, 50k student loan? Horrid. I only took out a loan in the first year and because stayed at home and studied locally, I didn't bother taking out a loan the rest of the years. I paid not a lot towards mine for a few years and paid it off 2 years ago. It makes such a difference to not have tuition fees to worry about.

To be honest, it's such a huge sum that I don't even think about it, except to bemoan its existence once in a while :rotfl:

I'll consider it a graduate tax! Chances are I will never, ever pay it off, anyway.

  • Still no verdict. Will have to wait until I get back from my week off, I think.

I haven't packed or planned anything for the next week! Was just trying to book coach tickets from the airport to my boyfriend's, the prices have jumped an additional £20 since I looked yesterday - should have just booked it then, grrr.

  • Thought I'd jump in for a quick update.

Still no verdict on £ but reading between the lines, it looks like it'll be in the high 30s rather than the 40s. I'm still fairly happy with that. Need to hash out potential commission though - I think I'll push for a certain % commission above a certain number of billable hours per annum.

OH now owes me £1,285 - it's going down slowly but surely!

Had a horrible flight back from our holiday which I've thrown in a claim for, I've read everything I can find about it and reckon I'll probably get 500 euros back between us. OH has said that if we can claim it back, he'll just give me his half to offset against the money he owes me.

I'm getting so antsy - just want confirmation of how much they're paying me!!

  • Not surprised SQ - they really are faffing about aren't they!

Great news on the flight reclaim although a shame you had to have the grotty experience to start with to qualify I guess. Hopefully it all goes through OK!

They sure do love to faff and pass the buck back and forth :(

It's OK, I still have some time so as long as it's all sorted before when I'm supposed to start getting paid the increase, I don't mind too much :rotfl:

I have a strong feeling it'll be in the region of £38,000-£39,000 so that'll be a nice chunk of additional money each month.

Assuming that's the case, I'll be increasing my monthly debt repayments to £500 for parental loan so that it can be paid off quickly, once that's done my plan is to save, save, save so that I can hopefully buy by mid 2020 :D
