;)The SOA is looking good - I will be a bit challenging about one thing though - you paying for your sister's food - why? Am I right in thinking that you & she share the rent? If so if your share is increasing by £250 a month then I take it she'll now be paying for the ingredients for her own butties?!
One other thing - do you need to start budgeting now for the increase in train fares when you move?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I live in her house! She charges me minute amounts of rent compared to the going rate in the local area and pays for most of the household bits (even toilet roll!) so I can't complain :rotfl:
Yes, I have to budget for increased train fares but I've already taken that into account in the SOA and in my savings - had to siphon an extra £150ish into the savings. I was saving £160 per month before!Debt Totals July 2019::

Hello February!
Payments have gone out so my daily CCs are at a nice shiny 0. Debts are as per the sig!
Waiting on £30 from Quidco, £75 from cashing in some shares, £100 from OH. £445 left in the accounts with only phone bill left to pay, so will do my moneysavingshuffle in the next few days.
Up to £48 on Populus and keep getting screened out!!
Still haven't had my chat about £ at work so will need to do that next week.
Not much else to report for now!Debt Totals July 2019::

:hello: Hi Silver Queen, just delurking to say hi and well done for getting to where you are! Your CC balance is coming down nicely and soon you'll be consumer debt free and able to focus on the parental loan - must be a nice feeling.
Fingers crossed for the pay chat!0 -

Thank you!
Annoyingly, I didn't even have this CC at the start of this diary  a combination of poor planning and a few things cropping up meant that I didn't have enough to pay for my annual train ticket in November so I took the CC out then. Luckily it's 0% but I'm still trying to make sure I get those payments done!Debt Totals July 2019::

Had to use my card in a work-related emergency today but already got it reimbursed from the office. Decided to make a little overpayment whilst I was at it so the Barclaycard now stands at £1,561.76!
Savings have taken a dent because I've gotten my currency for my two upcoming hols to the tune of £1,500 - ouch. Cash savings are now £3,150.
£500 of that is for OH so he will pay me back before April.
FINALLY got payment confirmation for £35 from Quidco that I've been waiting for since September! Reached £50 on Populus but it won't be processed until March now, annoyingly. Still waiting for £75 cashout from shares - it's taken bl00dy ages this time around but I have confirmation of payment now at least, just waiting for it to hit the bank account.
Planning to chuck £100 or so into my LISA. After govt bonus, I should have a balance of around £2,150 by March!Debt Totals July 2019::

It really is a challenge :rotfl: I almost gave up at 35 points but the thought of leaving £35 to perish...welll...we all know that wasn't going to happen!Debt Totals July 2019::

Trying to properly sort out a realistic presents budget. I find it really hard! My OH and I do joint presents for his family - we usually get something back for christmas but not for birthdays so I'm not too bothered about getting the best gifts ever etc. For my family, we do separate presents because my parents are a pain when it comes to getting joint presents from us, it's not worth the grief. I also usually spend more on my family purely because there's fewer of us than his family!
For his family, I have 1 x grandparent, 2 x parents, 5 x siblings and 2 x spouses, plus him of course (£100 birthday, £50 christmas).
For my family, there's 2 x parents and 2 x siblings.
I think we've settled on £30 maximum per person for his family members (£15 each) and spouses get a maximum of £20. I always keep an eye out for bargains though and we usually end up spending less. Ideally we would just not buy for them but his family are frustrating insistent that birthdays are "a big deal" even though nobody ever bothers to make the big deal, and I refuse to be the one who "rains" on the parade so I would rather just buy them a thoughtful gift and not expect anything in return.
Mother's and Father's days are around £15 and the deal is he pays for his parents and I pay for my parents.
For my parents, I usually spend about £50-£100 at Christmas and around £40-£50 for birthdays. My sisters get around £50-£100 each per birthday and Christmas. Phew! They definitely get a good deal out of me!
That makes it around £1,200 for presents in a normal year! Bl00dy hell...:rotfl:
My friends and I don't buy gifts for each other besides the odd token gift.
Making it £100 per month that I have to put away for it!Debt Totals July 2019::
