I don't think the question is whether your actions were morally correct or not. The problem you have is whether you broke company policy.
I can't believe the tube don't have very clear policies about what their inspectors should do if:
i) they encounter someone without a ticket who refuses to get off
ii) they encounter someone being aggressive.
