Hey Martin! Sounds like you had a busy weekend! Get yourself to work tomorrow for a rest! Or maybe not if you're busy doing the catalogues!
Shame more people didn't make it to the meet, it's been a smashing weekend here.
Is it half term there? Have you got the kids extra?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Hi there, yes it is half-term here and yes, Mum rang up stressed out earlier ( said she'd had enough of them by 8.00am this morning ) so I'm having them in between working tomorrow...:j :j
Managed to deliver 123 catalogues today as planned. I'm splitting them into three bite-size chunks and doing them Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Next project is to organise the under-seven team's fixture list for next year which by then will be under-eights. Blimey, how time flies.... :eek:0 -
Had the boys from 10am - 4pm today, a real bonus as I fancied the day off from catalogues...:A . They were as good as gold which narked their mother when she picked them up. Worked this morning early on and this evening for two hours and have been route-planning for tomorrow's 125 catalogues while watching football. Hard life innit!
Managed to get my spare room sorted while the boys were here too. It has been a mess since they left 2/3 weeks ago so I cleared it out and now it's smart enough to take in a lodger... but I won't be, I value my freedom too much. Also managed to get the first two fixtures sorted for next season's under-eights team. I thoroughly enjoy the extra responsibility given this year and it gives me something extra to fill the evenings with. I referee the home matches, collect the money at training nights, run the website, design and produce the newsletter and I'm the only bloke with two kids to watch too...:D
Money-wise, I spent £12.00 on petrol tonight. The clutch is going on the car so my mate is lending me one of his until mine's fixed next Tuesday. Also spent about a fiver in Somerfield tonight on some milk, bread and two ready meals:p .0 -
Funny old day today.
Went out this morning to deliver some catalogues and the exhaust went on the van. £95 will get a new one fitted... , this the day after the car was put off the road with a dodgy clutch... . You gotta laugh though....:rotfl:
Spent the rest of the day doing paperwork instead. Bought a bap for lunch (£2.05) and did my normal evening post run. Got home, had some lovely roasted root vegetables ( Somerfield £2.00 ) then started organising the boys football fixtures. I then had a phone call from a mate, Frazer, whose skittles team was short and could I play. Went out there tonight, cost me £1.10 to play plus another £2.50 for a drink. We lost but I beat my man...:D0 -
Hello little fella
Still stuck with them catalogues from last year then:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Cheeky git!
Long day today. Spent £25.00 on petrol, £10.00 on a mobile top-up, £1.09 on doughnuts, £1.19 on biscuits, £10.00 on football programmes and £7.20 on tea.0 -
Hey Martin, sorry to hear about your motor trouble....
Just checking in to say hello!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
My motor trouble stems from my OH who went and spent £150 on a new car radio!!! Idiot! We needed one, but not quite as much as we needed other things!
But apparently....you gotta have tunes man! Still, I'll get my own back on him by only playing MY music when in the car!!! Ha ha ha ha. That'll teach him!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hi Maz....:D
Thanks for the kind words about the motor trouble. These things happen, they make me laugh nowadays.
Had the boys all day today so went shopping early doors as was picking them up at 10.00am. Spent £24.57 which is about what it should be. Tonight was their football training so that was another £3.00.
Tomorrow is Yeovil Town v Southend so might not be a no-spend day, sorry. Hoping to get organised enough to do a packed tea for eating on the way home. That means doing a cooked meal at lunchtime so they go down there with a nice warm tummy...0 -
I found a sure fire way to save money and loose weight! Get food poisoning! It's very helpful!
Doesn't really make for much of a fun time though!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
