    Maz,

My bills / debts are posted somewhere on this thread but I'll have to re-do them as things have changed. When I moved here in December, it coincided with my Sky contract ending so I got Virgin Media's 4 for £40 offer ( that's broadband, the top TV package, free evening / weekend calls and the mobile offer of 300 mins / 300 texts per month ). It's a really good offer though and one I don't think I can beat.

Today, went to London. Spent £8 on the congestion charge plus another £3.03 on lunch at the services. Filled up with diesel yesterday at Tesco so got a wedge of Clubcard points. The twins' mum rang up at 4.30pm all stressed as they'd been fighting and asked me to have them early this weekend. I said "How early?" and she said "How soon can you get here?".....

Lo and behold, they're here now until probably Sunday afternoon :j :j :j :j and happily drawing away on the table ( well not literally on the table, you know what I mean....:o ).

When they've gone to bed, I'm going to sort out my paperwork once and for all having set myself a deadline of March 1st to get it done. I have a telephone interview with CCCS on Tuesday dinnertime so I need to get myself organised. I feel so desperately ashamed as I only went bankrupt three years ago but the CSA hit me with an unforeseen bill going back nine years of nearly £3,000. I paid pretty much all of it to my first ex by cash as we were getting on well but unfortunately, I never kept any receipts. I don't want her walloped with having it taken out of her benefits so I'll take the hit.

The other money I owe is to Three, BT, Nationwide and Provident. I aim to get into a free DMP with CCCS so that I can manage my money much better going forward. I'm 40 in May and would love to start with a clean slate of sorts....;)

Expensive day today but I have got a lot done so I'm not too dismayed.

Didn't get all the paperwork done last night. Boys were up later than I thought so by the time they were settled, I ended up getting the gumph ready for my HB visit instead.

Did the school run this morning then took some rubbish to the tip. Straight back into the Halifax bank to order a new PIN number for my Easycash account. Off to Asda and did a big week's shop for about £43 which included some more pairs of socks (£4) and a pair of trainers (£5) so really only £34. Popped into Wilkinsons and bought a mirror for £3, some Sure (£2.45) and two new drinks bottles for the boys (£1.98). Home for a coffee then down to the council to sort out my HB claim which should be settled shortly. All this by 12.30pm so treated myself to a behemoth bap, a slice of Australian crunch (£2.24) and treated the car to a car wash (£3.00). Just picked the boys up from school and about to start tea before taking them to football training (£1.50 each ).

Woke up this morning, came down with the boys for breakfast and saw a pile of creditors letters. No, they hadn't been delivered by the postman, they were outgoing letters sorting my finances out once and for all....:j . I can't believe I stayed up last night until they were all done. I'll probably fall asleep this afternoon in front of the telly but it'll be worth it for the piece of mind I'll have.

Celebrated by saving £60 on my car insurance this morning. Had to renew and went with AA which brought my premium down by a tidy sum indeed. They take twelve instalments too so no hefty deposit to pay either....:j

This might make you laugh too. I'm mad on Ikea furniture, particularly birch, and buy a lot of stuff from gumtree.com. As I look around, I have nine or ten bits of Ikea in the front room. I now have one more. Took the boys to school yesterday morning and spotted an Ikea storage unit in someone's garden by the bin. Went back past later on and had a closer look. It was in almost perfect nick apart from a small chunk out of one of the shelves. I knocked twice on the door, no answer, so I helped myself...  . Came back and cleaned it all up and now the boys have a lovely storage unit for their toys.....the bloody cheek of me sometimes! :A

  • It's lovely having them, Maz. :j

Wheels came off the diet good and proper today, best not ask.

Spent £12.00 on petrol, £4 on the twins football match subs and £2.30 on a pint of Strongbow after the game. I refereed the second game in quite gorgeous weather so worked up a thirst.... ;)
  • Spent £2.87 in Tesco Express this morning on bread and some other bits n bobs including a packet of Tooty Frooties, first I've had of them for 30 years plus....:T :T :D .

Took the boys to see their team-mates play this afternoon and then took them home afterwards. Had a little cry as I've had them since 6pm on Thursday and neither of us wanted it to end. Went to the pub with the team coach / manager and had a pint but not in the mood for socialising really.

Busy day tomorrow so might not post till late.

    Take care

    Martin
  • Spent £20.00 on petrol this morning then pootled on down to proof-read the programme for tomorrow night's game. Bought doughnuts for the media dept staff, biscuits for the printers and a box of chocolates for the ticket office manager who helped me out with a problem with my season ticket. All this cost £5.30...:o

Spent £3.50 tonight on a jar of coffee, some washing-up liquid and two scourer pads.

Quiet night at home tonight. Final big day of catalogues tomorrow.

    Take care

    Martin
