Problems with a UK website

Following up to my prior post, is anyone aware of who might be interested in investigating this racket?0
-
Can you give us the web address please Casper? It would help to warn others, and for you to understand the telltale signs of a non UK site.
The website is drivetekk.co.uk I contacted the bank today and they will be investigating and have also asked me to take the shoes to NIKE to certify that they're fakes as they suspect they may be.
They have reassured me that their fraud department is on the case.
Thanks so much to everyone who has helped with this issue. I originally wanted to buy the shoes on amazon but the UK seller was asking £250 for postage on top of the £100 shoes! So I went looking elsewhere.

I fully expect the items you bought to be fakes then.Casperthefriendlyghost wrote: »I originally wanted to buy the shoes on amazon but the UK seller was asking £250 for postage on top of the £100 shoes! So I went looking elsewhere.0 -
well just looking at the prices and the email in the contact page i can tell they are fake.Casperthefriendlyghost wrote: »The website is drivetekk.co.uk
the email is fake and points to a windfarm company in London.
you could report the site owners to trading standards as the domain is registered to someone in Scotland
whois.domaintools.com/drivetekk.co.uk0 -
also worth speaking to Trading Standards in falkirk so if he is not already they can stick him on their radar to investigate.
also the site is new Registered on: 04-Feb-2017, so if it gets closed down they would just set up again.
also the nameservers for the site come back as IP location Guangdong - Shenzhen - Chinanet Guangdong Province Network0 -
It's very clearly and obviously not a UK website.0

Even though it has a .co.uk web address, when will people realise that if a website has:Casperthefriendlyghost wrote: »The website is drivetekk.co.uk
Extremely poor use of the English language,
No contact phone number,
No company address,
No company number,
No VAT number,
Terms and conditions that are illegal in the UK,
Prices that are far lower than any reputable seller in the UK,
then there is obviously something not quite right with that seller.0 -
I'm afraid this is the "hook" which catches out many unwary customers. Many still labour under the impression that buying on the Internet is always far cheaper...Hermione_Granger wrote: »Prices that are far lower than any reputable seller in the UK0 -

The lady the website is registered to is on facebook. The website was also only registered Feb 2017.
OP, for future reference I'll detail some telltale signs of a chinese website/how to check its a uk company you're buying from:
1. Multiple currencies available
2. Heavily discounted prices
3. When the terms and conditions dont exist (your site has a privacy policy/faq under its T&C's) or makes reference to another company name and makes reference to services/features that are not connected with the website you are visiting (ie your one references angelo's online store, 4 stores that they own and talks of entering sweepstakes or taking surveys).
4. Non-compliance with UK consumer law - in the UK you're allowed 14 days to cancel for a full refund with only a few exception (their website imposes a 30% cancellation fee) and where goods are faulty or otherwise don't conform to contract you have up to 6 years to take action against a retailer (website says 8 days and will charge a 25% restocking fee + $30 return fee - isn't a restocking/return fee the same thing? and notice the currency - uk companies will obviously use UK currency as their default even if they accept others).
5. Contact us is just a webform - by law UK companies need to display certain info - registered company number if they have one, registered address - they dont need to provide a phone number though. Also check the address actually exists via google - its not unknown for chinese companies to use "virtual" offices (ie a glorified PO box). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
