Problems with a UK website

Good morning
I am really desperate and need some help. Two weeks ago I bought two pairs of shoes from a website with a .co.uk address. I paid £104 for the two pairs of trainers and within two weeks the shoes arrived.
Firstly, the shoes came from a security office in China? Then when I opened the packet they were the wrong shoes and the wrong size.
I contacted them via email only to be told that I need to send photos which I did, showing the wrong shoes and the package with the postage address from China on it. They told me they'd investigate.
Two days later I get an email saying "We are extremely sorry for you, we still hope you can keep them,we can refund you 20 EUR,hope your understand, thank you, have a nice day."
I replied saying that this is totally unacceptable and that I am prepared to return the shoes, at their expense for a full refund or they can send me the shoes I ordered. I have since had absolutely no response from them, no refund and they're still selling stuff online, posing as a UK based company.
Please help if you can. What should I do next? It seems my money is gone and there is not a lot I can do about it. If this is not posted in the correct place please feel free to move it to the correct place and thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly received.
Thanks

You obviously did not buy from a UK website, regardless of their web address. Be more careful who you purchase from in future...0

How did you pay ?
If you used a debit or credit card then it may be worth instigating a chargeback with the card company

Can you give us the web address please Casper? It would help to warn others, and for you to understand the telltale signs of a non UK site.0

This is why I buy everything from Amazon. I hate them, but they do intervene on behalf of the buyer.0

just because it is a .co.uk domain does not mean it is a UK business0

it is just like me having a .us domain for my business.
a good way to check before buying is to do a who is search on where the domain is registered. now id it is a .co.uk domain and it hides their details then that is one red flag, but if they are selling then you need to contact nominet as they will force them to display their registered details.0 -
China arent big on taking returns.
You have pretty much zero recourse here apart from warning the other readers of this site so all can avoid.
Lesson learnt - Anybody can buy any domain name, from any country

Credit cards only take liability over £100 and Chargeback only really works on Visa and then not always. If you sign for the goods you may have limits on time to complain.
Chargeback is available on mastercard or visa - it is provided as part of visa/mastercards own policy rather than by statute (as opposed to credit card disputes which are backed by the consumer credit act).
You are right it doesn't always work but thats because mastercard/visa have predefined codes/reasons for claiming and therefore your claim needs to fit into one of those reason codes. However one situation covered by both mastercard & visa are goods not as described/defective merchandise.
Sometimes the issuing bank will ask you to send the goods back, however some people have had success getting around this if there is no returns address on the website & the company doesn't provide one when askedYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
