No audio suddenly

So, Son number 2 is playing minecraft on the pc, whilst listening to a '!!!! Barton Special Agent' cd thru Itunes at the same time.

Minecraft crashed and itunes stopped.

Now we have 'no audio device can be found' even though all the drivers are up to date.
So we have no sound. Speakers work ok.

Any advice please. We are on windows 10

    windows 10?

In the system tray, next to the clock is a speaker symbol. Right click, select "Troubleshoot sound problems" and follow the prompts.

If this does not fix it, reinstall the sound drivers.

Device Manager > Sounds, video and game controllers, no yellow exclamation marks?

Not powered speakers which inadvertently have been switched off?

In the system tray, next to the clock is a speaker symbol. Right click, select "Open volume mixer" Is the speaker device at max volume?

In the system tray, next to the clock is a speaker symbol. Right click, select "playback device" and then "playback" tab is set to default (green tick), and when music is played the green bar fluctuates?

In the system tray, next to the clock is a speaker symbol. Right click, select "playback device" and then "playback", right click on the speaker and select "properties", Levels tab is 100, Enhancements tab I always tick "loudness equalization", press Preview. Advanced tab "16 bit 44100Hz and press Test

if it still does not work, I would go to device manager, uninstall the soundcard, reboot and * reinstall your new sound drivers again that you obtained from the sound card manufacturers web site.

    * some people may rather in device manager will "scan for hardware changes" and let the drivers automatically install

Our computer does not think it has an audio device, so none of these suggestions work. :(

Sorry to ask the obvious but have you tried a full power off/on?

I've just had, for the second time, the little speaker icon disappear from the task bar. A restart didn't sort it but a full power off/on did.

Also, if you right click on the windows icon (bottom left of task bar) and choose Device Manager, do you see a line called 'Audio Inputs and Outputs' and if you expand it you should see 'Speakers XXXX' (mine says 'Speakers Conexant SmartAudio HD'). If you expand that you should see driver info. etc.

What I would do, go to device manager,

    A) delete sound driver and reboot computer, Windows SHOULD pick up the sound driver , and reinstall it. (Sounds scaring but it should work as Windows OS is plug and play) Well if it doesn't work, still good we can go to next step.

    or

    B) update driver

I would do A) as a start, please let me know the results. Hopefully it works.

Full power off and on done.

When I get to 'audio inputs and outputs, when I expand it, the only thing that shows is' Microphone HD webcam. No speakers.

When I go into device manager where will I find 'sound driver'? If I go to 'Sound, video and game controllers' the onlty 2 drop downs I have are AMD high definition audio device or HD webcam.

There is no sound driver in 'audio inputs and outputs'

Is the audio driver showing as working and enabled. You could try and disable and then re-enable the AMD audio driver.
