In Post 5444 keyboardworrier announced the arrival of Ford's regular saver, 480 posts later we are still discussing the intricacies.

The capacity of interest rate chasers to delve into the whys and wherefores with the finest of tooth-combs is surely legendary by now, or it should be. Did we all remember to eat, put the cat out, turn the TV off, or was all that shelved for the greater good? Is it safe yet to go back to normal life?

Crumbs, I wondered what that mewing noise was ;)

Guess it is back to wondering when the next tempting offer will come out... about time for another Virgin Regular Saver perhaps?

....to borrow a phrase I'm sure I've read on here somewhere, why use a long word if a diminutive one would suffice?

Was this the advice offered to Ford when they drafted their T&C's?

    'One' is perfectly adequate ;)

Seeing as we've been banished to this thread I guess it's time to start the vehicle-based jokes again.

I knew that Ford launching a 4% Regular Saver was going to cause Major excitement, but I didn't expect it to be Super Major.

I thought it was rather fun all in all. Lets hope Ford reopen the offer!

We haven't had this much account opening frenzy and excitement on here since Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank had their £150 switching offer - with some posters opening up to 20 accounts with everyone discussing what reasons they would give the CB/YB staff on the phone as to why they needed another current account when they already had 15 with them! I need to manage the expenses for my pet's vet bills separately - for example.

PS The Nottingham BS regular saver isa paying 2.25% is still available. Branch only and only one account allowed - but you can at least invest the full £20k allowance if you wish to.

Neither did we expect the Ford Prefects to ruin the fun quite as quickly as they did.

I found it interesting that Ford weren't going to close accounts straight away, but they want to Explorer the Ranger Options (finance).
