BT are seriously getting on my nerves

Dear All
I am reading conflicting information about BT recent increase in prices. Firstly I am a new customer to BT on a promotional deal since August 2016. I have nothing put problems with the service, poor customer service and incorrect bills.

Now to add insult to injury they have increased my BT package. However, I have read on here that BT promotional deals wont change in price.

Have I got this wrong?
Is there a time limit from customers being notified of price increases to cancelling my contract without penalty?

Yes the period of free cancellation was 30 days .That EXPIRED 7/4/17 .
