Please do not appeal to POPLA based on a Resolver effort at 'appeal'...please please stop and read the forum here and show us the POPLA appeal draft first.

Initial appeal via Resolver and by mail submitting copy of blue badge and UKPC photos showing badge on dash - generated letter from UKPC saying they would accept £15 which I didn't pay as was not illegally parked. Appeal submitted to POPLA via Resolver - heard nothing - just had demand from DRP for £160 and found that POPLA do not accept appeals via Resolver - which had I known could have gone direct but now POPLA code has expired. They suggest I contact UKPC for a new code but I am really angry at Resolver who accepted my appeal and led me to believe it was submitted to POPLA. Have emailed CEO of the store to try to find out if UKPC have a genuine contract with them. Any advice appreciated

Did you even bother to read ANY of the replies you received in this thread? You were told unequivocally to not bother with Resolver and to do the POPLA appeal yourself (with help from here).

As you've missed the POPLA boat then you now simply ignore all communications except a real LBA from UKPC or their solicitors, or an actual court claim. Debt collectors can't take you to court. (This is ALL explained in the NEWBIES thread - I suggest you go read it {again}).

Guess you are having a bad day and need somebody to sound off at.... I do resent being spoken to as if I am an imbecile - but obviously to you everybody falls into that category. Yes I did read the threads but the amount of information - sometimes contradictory - is mind boggling. Unfortunately by the time I was instructed 'unequivocally' the appeal had already been submitted by Resolver to POPLA and there was no way of my knowing that POPLA do not accept from Resolver. Perhaps it may be good use of your time to make this public knowledge as had this been made clear I would have gone directly to POPLA. Thanks for your constructive advice indicating that basically I am up the creek no paddle

I think that Doam is simply frustrated for you at missing your POPLA chance. And no one has said you are up a creek without a paddle.

We regulars do get a little annoyed when someone we are trying to help screws things up in spite of our advice.

So where are you now? You have missed POPLA, that's all. You are still 100% in the clear and have photographic evidence to prove it. So you need to sit tight and do nothing till you get a LBCC or court papers. Then we will help you win at court.

Provided what you have told us is 100% accurate and not embellished, then, as I said in post #18, you must win.

So, don't bite the hands that are trying to feed you and keep in touch on this thread.

Resolver are useless at private parking charge 'complaints' because they appear not to understand the scam. From what I've seen, Resolver encourage complaint letters to firms - but this isn't the same, this industry involves scammers.

Its not that they don't understand. Its that the parking company are resolvers paying customer. Resolver is not there to ensure consumers are being treated fairly (like an official ombudsman is). They're there to make a profit selling their services to traders/retailers as a sort of "we'll deal with all the crap complaints so you don't have to" service.

Many thanks for your polite response unlike some.......
Doam is not half as frustrated as I am at having missed out with POPLA, however all the 'unequivocal instructions' were posted after the appeal to POPLA had been submitted - or so I thought until I just found they do not accept appeals via Resolver. It would seem that my major mistake throughout has been to believe that in view of the fact that Martin Lewis is associated with Resolver then it would be up and above board - which is obviously not the case as all indications on this site are that they are working for the parking companies. I realise you people are familiar with dealing with this kind of stuff and probably think I am stupid (some have made that crystal clear) however in over 50 years of driving I have never received a parking ticket - for the simple reason I never park illegally. I have been in touch with the CEO of the store group who sent me the details of the landlord who asked me by return to send him the parking ticket number and he would 'look into it' for me.
I received a message via Resolver yesterday saying the charge of £160 still stands and I will have to take this up with DRP as it has been referred to them but according to others on this site this lot are unlicensed and can do nothing re court etc. Perhaps you will understand my confusion at conflicting advice.

Resolver is just a letterbox for your correspondence with the PPC

As far as drp go, don't contact them and don't respond to any correspondence from them

    They can be ignored.

    You didn't park illegally!

You are being pursued for a perceived debt

They have 6 years to take this to court.

Come back here for advice if you get court correspondence

I have just come across an old thread from 2013 posted by Coupon Mad with a draft letter to UKPC which includes a paragraph from their website at the time. The person posting the question refers to a case of parking in a disabled space and not displaying the blue badge - there the similarity ends as I had a badge on the dash. However the paragraph on UKPC quoted states:

''Our Company Policy on Disabled Parking
    - We do not penalise the vehicles of disabled badge holders at any time.
    - We do not penalise the vehicles of disabled badge holders for staying over the time limit allowed by the client.
    - If no valid disabled badge is on display and a parking charge is issued to the vehicle, then this will automatically be cancelled on the production of a copy of the owner's blue badge.''

This would indicate that even if I did have no badge displayed, the production of it would result in ticket cancellation but this is no longer on the website so seems times have changed and they no longer acknowledge the Equality Act . They are aggressively pursuing me even with the badge ! - simply because their attendant needed to go to Specsavers. Very tempted to copy this draft and fire it off - and CC in DRP and tell them all to go to hell if no joy from the landlord - unless somebody on here says 'don't do it'.......
