Bought a car from a dealer - It is FUBAR'd after a week :-(

If its knackered after a week; I very much doubt the warranty i will even be valid!!
One would assume he has to confirm to the warranty company that it has had a full inspection etc and from what you say that hasn't happened. This could get nast very quickly and I would be going down the sale of goods act. Talk to warranty company and see where they stand by all means (think you want to get to the boss quickly and not just the underlings)
If he won't act then a visit to trading standards, citizens advice, lawyer etc. You want to move fast on this one.
Might be worth getting an RAC type check done as well to have an indepedant report.
