I received my new vodafone SIM but more than a day after activation the free bundle / credit had not been added
when I phoned customer services I spoke to a really snotty female agent who clearly hadnt been properly trained & decided that I would only get the free bundle if i transferred my talkmobile number to them
This was despite me stating what was on the SIM envelope i.e. specifically saying the bundle is already loaded & telling her the website address
https://talkmobile.co.uk/payg/closure which specifically states how you get the free bundle with no mention whatsoever of having to transfer your number
one of the vsnottiest agents Ive ever come across - absolutely no way Id ever use vodafone after that experience
when I asked for the address of the complaints department she even had the nerve to say there wasnt one
MY Voda Sim arrived same as yours, no credit showing. But somehow it connected me to internet and sent texts with zero charges showing. No idea what is going on TBH, or if it will cease after 30 days
Have you tried making a call or texting with it?Numerus non sum0 -

with my sim I was able to load a web page when i first inserted the SIm but the internet access has been disabled now
I would check your sim again as it might just be some sort of initial few MB of allowance not related to the BV bundle0 -

I phoned again today as my PAC is about to expire so this was my last chance to get a refund before my number is transferred to my new provider. No joy and no manager was available to speak to me.
It's only a small amount of credit I had but it was the principle. I ran down my remaining credit by entering a text competition. At least that way Talkmobile only get a few pence off me and I have the (tiny) chance of winning £70,000 in the competition.
I had a similar experience to you, after being told 3 months ago that there would be no refunds, last week I read on this forum that people have been getting refunds so I rang Talkmobile and was told that refunds stopped at the beginning of August.
I pointed out that Talkmobile had never informed their customers that refunds were available and also did not inform customers that refunds had stopped.
I asked for my case to be escalated and was promised a call back in 48 hours, it never came, rang again and was told it would be several days more before a call back (by quite a rude operator), waited another 3 days and was told will get a call back in 2 hours, after 3 hours as expected no call back, rang again and was promised a call back that day.
Had enough at this point and demanded to talk to a supervisor immediately otherwise I would take my case to the ombudsman, I told them I was a pensioner and had nothing better to do than persist with my request for a refund, suddenly a refund was offered, they said they were making a special exception in my case ! it nice to be special !
The amount of credit was small ~£5 but it’s the principal that’s important that companies like Talkmobile think they should be able to keep peoples credit when it is they who are closing the service.
Obviously now that Talkmobile is owned by Vodafone their legendry (bad) customer service values have been implemented as well.
It remains to be seen if and when the refund cheque arrives, promised in 10 days.
To be continued.0 -
Just had conversation with TalkMobile. She was adamant that they weren't offering refunds anymore (!), and that it used to take 7 - 10 days to process refunds. With the service closing tomorrow, there wasn't enough time left to process the refund. I said that if she couldn't make a refund, I'd go to Resolver and the Ombudsman, but she wouldn't budge.0

I got a refund today, just because the service ends on 31 Aug cannot mean they are going to shut the dooors and go home ! Talkmobile contract customers are continuing, its just another excuse, keep trying.0 -
Well the transfer went smoothly and my old number transferred over to O2 PAYG without any issues.
I've sent a snail mail letter to Talkmobile requesting my remaining credit of £10,29 be refunded.
I'll update this when I receive the cheque!
Well, three weeks on and still no cheque. I've now sent them a formal Complaint letter as per Ombudsman guidelines. They now have eight weeks to sort this or I will be going to the Ombudsman.
I'll keep you posted.0 -

We confirm that we have sent SMS on (10th – 26th May ,30th May – 15th June ,30th June ,2nd August )
confirming that the service will end on 31/08/2017.
Also, we have offered to go to Vodafone and get a free SIM and a free Big Value Bundle.
In the begining of August we have sent SMS including the PAC Code for the customers.
Best Regards,
Talkmobile on Vodafone Online Help Team 5"
["Vodafone Online Help" - surely an oxymoron?
My Reply:"I'm a light user, so expect the credit I put on the phone to last a long time. Why should I artificially make more use of the phone just to use up my credit? It is Talkmobile/Voadfone that has cancelled the service (with which I was quite happy), so please either let the service continue until the credit is exhausted, or give me my money back (I believe Bob Geldof said much the same thing, but more succinctly).
This issue has legs! Remember PPI."0 -

SNAP!
Just been asking Vodaphone customer helpline to point out where in the terms and conditions it says that I need to do anything extra, like transfer number or anything else.... to get the pre-loaded £10 credit.
After insisting to be put through to a senior manager, they eventually agreed to give me the credit. "The £10 credit will appear in 2 hours" I was told..... Needless to say 2 Hours has passed and no credit has arrived.
Now contemplating whether to call again or cut my losses and move to 3 network despite poorer coverage.
