Yes, I've noticed people buying entire trollies of economy bread - presumably cafe owners. (or perhaps they have a duck feeding fetish....) It doesn't bother me as the value bread is pretty vile stuff!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0

Lol @ the duck feeding fetish - now there's a thought!
I'd just like to try one measly loaf, just the once, to see if it is any good toasted. Or bread and butter pudding. One day it will be me in the right place at the right time, and I won't be greedy!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I saw someone in Sainsburys last week buying at least 30 lettuces and apparently nothing else. He was a youngish guy and looked a bit punk. I was somewhat intrigued.0

Perhaps he was going to a fancy dress party, as a field - or a jolly green giant
.
That reminds me of the chap (a few years ago) who bought up several tons of bananas in Tesco's or Sainsbury's, and gave them away in the street. They were on a "extra bonus points" loyalty card promotion, and he'd worked out that he'd get more value in the bonus points than the bananas were costing him.
Have the big supermarkets stopped doing those extra points promotions now? Haven't seen any for ages, except the Co-op, which does them occasionally, linked to multi-buys.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
