The data reward SIM will make calls. I have one and have tried it. Once registered to get the 200Mb each month just top it up like any other 3 SIM. According to reports the cost for addition data, calls and texts are the same as the 321 SIM.

I can confirm it's 3-2-1 rates on the data reward sim..

    Thanks, I've just ordered one.

Just had a google search and it seems that Three won't allow internal number transfers from one sim to another. Has anyone successfully managed to do this?

Alternatively, what's best network to use to port my number from Three and port it back in again?

    Many thanks for any experiences/suggestions.

Yes, but on PAYG to contract. Probably not going to get anywhere on PAYG to PAYG. When you get the new SIM it's a free call to ask, and they might not say no...

Been with Three PAYG Sim Only for a few years as don't use mobile Data much and 150mb was more than enough. Interested in the Plusnet deal which seems fair value at from £5 ppm includes 1Gb data I believe.

I normally recommend giffgaff because you can get a PAC from them using their automated system, only problem is that their minimum top up is £10.

Some networks (like Vodafone) can be difficult to deal with and they can be argumentative on occasion when trying to get the PAC straight after activating the sim.

At 1p per MB, 150MB will only cost £1.50. Say you only use 100MB, that's £1 and you only pay as you use it. Set a monthly mobile data limit on your phone and no need to mess about with a new SIM and trying to move your existing number over to it.

The 123 plan compared to other networks offerings for PAYG does have a sense of "too good to be true". And as someone who was hit by being forced off The One Plan, I'd be wary of whether Three in the future will dump this and raise prices significantly to keep up with the other networks. Data is the lucrative moneymaker and cost for mobile networks nowadays so things like this, lowering of caps and potential increases in price per MB are inevitable.

I imagine that 3 have developed the data reward sim because freedom pop also do a sim which promises 200mb for free every month.
It uses the three network. The major difference seems to be that FPOP uses VOIP for calls and texts and must be made through their app.

Like many prices, the networks charge what they can get away with. A classic example is the huge difference between EE and BT SIM only contracts, same company, same network, EE are around 2 to 3 times the price!

As regards PAYG it's easy to switch, I wouldn't worry about Three in that regard

The account ceases (I guess) after 120 days if you don't top it up, not so good for occasional use, although for regular users 1p/min is good.

4p/min calling and 1p/min to receive calls roaming in the EU, I wonder what their tariff will be in mid June when EU roaming should cost no more that calls in the UK? EE have hiked their SIM only prices by a huge amount in the past few days and 1pmobile use the EE network...

1pMobile will be offering Roam Like At Home rates from the 1st June and it will be 1p a minute for calls, 1p a text and 1p a MB with no charge to receive a call in Zone 1 countries (EU countries). Their data boosts can also be used whilst roaming.
