I did one on Saturday. Terrible day - no one around due to FA Cup, Lord Mayor's show in Belfast and North West 200 being on BUT still made £47. :j Happy days! Still have a load of junk tho that I want rid of!!! :rolleyes0

Brilliant Bank holiday!
For 10p I got one of those liquid soap dispensers, for using in the kitchen when I boil up some duff soap I bought, with essential oils. Except the tube bit was missing, so my boyfriends's going to get me some during the week for a few more pence.
For £2 a CD that I would have EVENTUALLY got anyway (Yann Tiersen - you NEVER see his CDs at carboot sales, so a real find!).
AND, for 50p a really hefty, chunky saw, which my boyfriend says is brilliant, and will make light work of the wood he's going to recycle for a garden border.
Good day! Who else found bargains?0 -

You'll all shoot me - I saw a slow cooker on one stall and didn't even ask how much! I haven't got to grips with that side of oldstyle yet...but I don't cook meat, so am not sure whether it's something I can really benefit from. I'll probably live to regret not snapping up that one!0

They can be used for any form of casserole that you normally make, and I've seen nut loaves mentioned.
And then there's puddings! Yum!
There are veggie meals in our Old Style Collection, and some of the main courses can be adapted for soya or quorn. More still in the Slow Cooker Collection and that's where you'll find the puddings too

i finally found our local bootsale (edinburgh) 2 weeks ago and i can't wait to get back!
it's really a decent setup as it's in the old bus depot so as long as you can brave the weather to get to it in the first place then you're laughing!
for anyone that wants to go it's on New Street, just off the royal mile (cannongate) heading down the hill towards holyrood. you turn left on to New Street which is just past Plasir de Chocolat and the number 35 bus stops just after New street if you're heading down the hill and stops across from Plasir de Chocolat if you're heading up the hill
simply turn on to new street and walk halfway down the hill, it;s on your right
i got a huge army rucksack for dh's uni coursebooks for £8 excellent condition and very sturdy. also got pairs of thick woolen army socks for £1 pair
videos can be had from 50-£1 each with many people offering 3 for £2 though i picked up a few for 20p each as well as a few copies of 2000 AD comic for 20p each (dh collects these and believe me they are worth more than 20p each!)
i got 5 kilos of lego for £5.50 after some haggling and bought dd some great train cars for her brio set... 5 for 50p! and one of them is one of the characters from thomas the tank engine so that one's going for sale on ebay!
got a copy of the da vinci code for 50p
passed on a pie maker and now i'm kicking myself. we could really do with one cuz dh spends a great deal of time in his dept at uni and would happily reheat homemade pies (made from leftovers) to eat whilst he's away, saving us a fortune... found only 1 on ebay and it's going for £21+ and £8 postage! seems they don't make them anymore because i've been searching online and have come up with nothing
also got a thomas the tank engine duvet cover and pillowcase for £2, practically new and now dd thinks i'm amazing
by the way, to all of you getting slowcookers i'm sooo jealous. i only have my old tower cooker which is ok but i sooo want another one, a nice big one and then i could use my tower cooker to make the pudding in...
i'm hoping to go again this weekend, will be there first thing at 10am (maybe even earlier if i can get them to let me infounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
I got a pine unit with a drawer for a hifi, for £1
a strange 'doctor who' like lamp for 20p which all my friends want
a selection of books mostly 50p , and thereabouts each, great condition,
a radiator for the dogs kennel £3 oil filled electric.
Geoff Hamiltons garden design cd/dvd set - brilliant for a £1
A machine that has a vibrating belt to tone you up forget what they are called.. !£15 still priced up at £130 from QVC with all receipts instructions, etc. Loads of designer 2nd hand clothes and all my size what luck - great condition, perfumes, shoes great condition a job lot for a £5, and some plants I had a tremendous day out. On the funny side,, we saw a charity stall with heaps of stuff, we noticed a stag-night thong - the sort with an elephants trunk on, in red satin, I picked it up thinking it was a child toy, and quickly realising it had been worn I put it down when I saw something 'ginger' marked on the back of it, ( I think you know what!!)I was too embarrased to speak up, but was helpless when one of the ladies put it up to her face and said 'is it a mask'? guess where the offending strap was dangling? yes on her top lip...0
