    Hi fellow oldstylers!
Blimey where is everyone?!! Are you all playing hide and seek?
Just had a very good weekend although sadly I am another year older yet not apparently another year wiser!!
OH had a successful show...he sold a piece to a Saudi Arabian prince who had his 3 very bored looking henchmen with him [a dollshouse show is hardly a testerone laden event!!] OH always comes back with a few good stories!
I had some fabby HM pressies this year. My Mum bless her knitted me two miniature christening gowns...they're tiny and one of them she had to do 7 times. Literally a labour of love and my friends who came for supper on Sat made me a twisted wand me out of yew which is a very significant tree for me.
It looks like good news for my best friend with cancer....she's got to have more cut out but the specialist has said that the prognosis is good. She's amazed by the fallout from the experience but it has reconciled her with her Mother so that's a good outcome.
OS today has been recycling out and dark wash done and hung. We're having leftovers tonight for tea and am hoping to cook up the apples for my apple butter. Am however, very weary at present and may just flop infront of the HP and Goblet of Fire DVD we've borrowed.
Hope you all have a good Monday

  • Afternoon all,

Hope you have had a great weekend.

Im busy trying to figure out a costume to make for dd's book day on Thursday it needs to be a nursery rhyme character!

Bump is doing well and jiggling about like a good 'un now, only another 25 weeks to go  , still havent decided whether to ask on Friday whether it is pink or blue when i ring for my final cultured results from the cvs.

My tax credits form came back today and i am really worried. It's the first time i have claimed because i'm a !!!!!! and have missed out on years worth of payments, but when i opened the letter this morning i thought that cant be right it's too much.

After 30 minutes of reading it all i noticed they had missed a 0 off of dh's wages, so i rang them up and said you are going to be overpaying me i need this sorted, the guy on the phone didnt seem worried and just said we will adjust paymants accordingly! Thats ok but we are talking over £20,000 here difference in wages and i want it sorted now! i dont want a bill next year asking for x amount back, i dont want it in the first place!

Has anyone been in the same boat?

Hubby is working 15 hours a day this week so i have everything to do myself, will pop in later and try to catch up on everybodies weekend.

    Leigh xx

  • Good afternoon everyone

Haven't been on MSE this weekend due to DH reformatting pc's etc etc so DD can have one in her room (and therefore free up our PC :j ). All very MS - free computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse - just need to buy a chair and desk and a power lead of all things - so for £40 DD has a PC. We are now waiting on the free router coming from Talk Talk for signing up with them again for another 18 months - we're happy with the service so thought "why not" :D Then we'll all have internet access.

Managed to quickly iron 2 loads this morning before going to work - so feel quite virtous (sp?) Need to stick the BM on and tea tonight is Chicken with cherry tomatoes, creme fraiche and pesto - with tagliatelle.

So good to see you back Queenie

Might have a mooch over the new knitting thread - my get up and go has got up and gone :rotfl:

Take care and (((((hugs))))) all round
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Afternoon gang, hope everyone is well and happy today. Well I didn't get back last night by the time the computer was free I was more than ready for my bed. Anyway been bobbing about this morning nothing world shattering but things that needed doing. Got car tax, cat litter and dropped a form off in Manchester. Went in to Nero and had a free cofee(with a full stamp card- I LOVE them) then home to make a couple of phone calls that I would rather not have to do but done now so thats ok.
Am giong to make a huge pot of stock as I got a FANTASTIC head of local celery on the market on Sat its massive but the best thing is that there are so many leaves that from a distance I thought it was a bunch of corriander:j . Doing a garlic mushroom and lentil bake for tea. On the pet board today its a bit sad as one poster's mum's cat is dying and another is having their very poorly cat put down. It has really made me feel sad and very grateful that all of ours are ok.
