Thanks, that certainly seems a possibility as it seems to cover all the things I need. And easy to store too.

Can you tell me, is the base and the mattress section all in one piece? It appears from the photos that you just deflate the mattress and fold the base to store. Also do you find it comfy and stable?

The other option which seems to fit the bill somewhat is:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Beds-Frames-Bases/JAY-Venus-Double-Folding-Density-Airflow-Mattress/B00AF6YS0M/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1494419514&sr=1-1&keywords=small+double+bed+folding

So, at least I have two options to further research.

    Thanks.

    Hi.

It is in two separate pieces, but the mattress part can be attached to the base, otherwise it would slip off.

It is very stable and is comfortable enough short term. We had one couple use it for 2 weeks. They had to inflate it fairly regularly over that period of time. But if you only have guests for a day or two at a time, then it would only need inflating the once in that time.

It collapses down for storage, and is quite compact. It takes up much less space than my computer chair.

I'm currently on an airbed - an Aerobed Platinum - because I got rid of my old bed before moving and the new one won't arrive for several weeks.

I've been on it for about six weeks now and it's really comfortable. I'm using a memory foam mattress topper for the warmth factor others have mentioned.

It is the height of a normal bed, so no scrabbling about on the floor. It is shaped to take normal fitted sheets.

Stores away in its own bag BUT the instructions warn you not to store it below 10 degrees C, so not in the garage over winter.

Part of the reason for buying this full height one was that it'd be a more comfortable guest one to keep for future use, as well as tiding me over this gap while moving.

Thanks springdreams and Hedgehog for those insights. I do have an airbed already and thought good for makeshift guests have found it a bit troublesome - I think mostly the deflation effect. Still undecided on this ...

    Thanks again
