No response whatsoever since I sent my letter. Legal ombudsman said they have eight weeks, so I guess it's yet more waiting. Grr.0

I think in another week, I would be tempted to spend another stamp on a letter saying that you will be going to the Ombudsman when the 8 weeks is up. I can see why it's hardly worth the bother, but as the deadline approaches they might just start to wonder what can be done.
I would be mortified if I was them - which may explain why I'm not a lawyer......0 -

What a good idea! Park this at your door, and don't think about it while you're away.
Have a lovely holiday0 -
Sooo ...
Been six weeks since formal complaint was sent via post and no response to that yet.
However ...
We received an email to say all monies have now been received by the solicitor and he's in a position to transfer to us should we be in agreement with the breakdown of monies he suggested (which we are).
He also said he would withhold approximately 10% of monies just in case there are any tax implications (but he does not assume there will be), and if not will transfer this money too.
I guess we need to wait and see how long it takes him to push the button ...0 -
Blimey - a year to get to this point! And the winners are - answers on a postcard..... ;-)
There almost seems light at the end of the tunnel - nearly there now!0 -
Random thought - if the solicitor is emailing about transferring money and you are talking about pushing buttons, just make sure you/the solicitor haven't fallen victim to the email-hack-scam which seems increasingly prevalent, and do let him have your bank account details either in person or by phone ...0

Alas stil nothing after the email on Tuesday saying payment ready to be made.
I guess it'll take them a number of weeks to make a simple bloody bank transfer.
By the way, they are charging 42 quid for a BACS payment, unbelievable!0
