Confused about balance transfer card

My Very bill is now down at £500 (I've cleared around £600 since the new year which is massive for me) and is my primary goal to remove ASAP.
I have a payment coming out for football season tickets for my son and I, which will come to £600. If paying by zebra finance for the tickets over a 4 or 10 month period, then the interest is roughly 30 odd %.
I'm looking for a card that will (a) allow me to clear off Very, and (b) purchase my season tickets outright. Given I already have a barclaycard credit card then i can't go to them, best offer was Capital One for a 6 month period, the eligibility calculator thing on here said 100% chance of being accepted. If I do accept it for the £1000, does this mean I can use that card for both clearing Very, and paying my season tickets upfront? It's for a 6 month period only and I'll happily pay the £166 to clear it in that time

If you already have a Barclaycard check to see if they have any offers available. I have a Barclaycard and they are forever contacting me about Balance Transfer and Money Transfer offers.
If you owe Very £500 and the season tickets will cost you £600 then a card with a £1,000 limit will not be enough to do both. You will be £100 short unless the £600 for the season tickets includes the 30% APR interest you would pay if you purchased them using Zebra Finance.0 -
Do they accept cards as payments? In which case, you need a purchases offer on a card
If not, money transfer.0 -

I have the £100 set aside as a season ticket deposit already incase I have to go the zebra finance route. So if accepted then I'll put that £100 direct onto one or the other.Deleted_User wrote: »Do they accept cards as payments? In which case, you need a purchases offer on a card

That's if you're using a BT card. You need a purchases card with a 0% offer.
Don't mix non-promotional transactions with promotional ones.0 -

Thanks by the way. Just want to be sure if I'm doing this that it turns out for the best and not leave me worse off0 -
Your easiest option to clear your 'Very' balance and also to pay for the season ticket is to apply for a 0% money transfer card.

What do the results say?
Capital One is no good as they are a subprime card provider so your credit limit with them would likely only be £100 or £200.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. OK, so looks like you are going to have to clear the Very account the old way -
by throwing as much spare money as you can at it.
As for the season ticket, the Zebra finance loan looks to be your best option.
The Capital One card is no good for you because it is 0% interest on balance transfers for 6 months. You would only use this type of card if you have another credit card which has a balance on it. You wouldn't be able to use this to pay off your Very account or to purchase season tickets.
I know you said you have a balance on your Barclaycard, however, given the very low limits Cap One give, I hardly doubt £100/£200 at 0% for 6 months is going to even make a dent.
When you log into your Barclaycard account, have you actually checked to see if you do have any offers available to you?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. How long have you had your Barclaycard?
If it's a reasonable amount of time you might find they are your best bet.
Once you have a decent record with them they will usually accept you for a second card (or more)
I have 3 different "Platinum" cards with them with no problems. They didn't show up in the various eligibility checkers but checkingon the Barclaycard website it showed 90% chance to be accepted.(under the tab am i eligible under credit cards/choose a barclaycard)
Worth a try, especially as it's only a soft check that won't hurt your credit file, and the all rounder card allows you to purchase interest free as well as 0% balance transfers if you need them.0
