Great news about your OH's job, pigpen, even if it is going to take a bit of organising.

And Dizzy, it's good that you're talking to each other.

I have done a quick tidy round and noticed how much grit and dust DGD1+2 managed to bring in on their shoes yesterday, so DH is going hoover downstairs again and steam mop the kitchen floor, which he didn't do yesterday despite my having dropped a very large hint. He's also going to check and if necessary replace a couple of light bulbs. We seem to have a lot of bulbs that don't fit properly in the light fitting but work intermittently if you give them a tap. Anyone else had that problem?

I have put a load in the WM and will have a second one later. It's lovely weather here atm, so maybe I can get it all dry outside.

Decluttered a few plants in pots to DDiL yesterday, but managed to get a 1cm long matchstick-think splinter from some dead woody stems right into the soft tissue of my left index finger as the trowel slipped while I was spitting a clump of plants for her. Ouch! Pulled it out myself - there is just a small puncture wound which appears clean but is unsurprisingly sore, so need to keep an eye on it in case there is some infection deep down.

Now back to work. I *will* finish this piece of work today  I need to go shopping later - we have run out of F&V. Jacket potato for baked beans for lunch, then....

Hope everyone has a good day and that the germs are weakening x

    Really, really pleased, Dizzy.
Piggers, the chances of getting a job are much, much higher if someone is already employed, so keep an eye out for something more local that your OH might enjoy more. Huge congratulations to Mr Piggers on getting it even if it isn't a magic bullet.
Ouch, Ionafan. Some of our light fittings are bayonet and some are screw ins, and I find the screw ins often work a bit loose for no apparent reason which means the connection isn't 100%. If the problem persists I'd get the wiring checked because if there's a loose connection in the wiring, that's a potential fire risk. (I'm a bit frightened of housefires, so I've said that before but it's worth repeating.)

I need to re-order the freezer to cram Kelpie's marrow bone supply in there today and scoot around carpet sucking, and give the shower room a bit of a tweak. The plumber's been and the hot water is fixed - bliss.
    Better is good enough.

Bath tonight, then? I didn't know it was your birthday :rotfl:

2nd load of washing will be ready to hang out soon.

I am making progress with this piece of work, but it keeps changing direction on me. I shall just have to go with the flow and see what comes out at the end.

It might be a late lunch here

Piggers I hope this is the start of an upward trend in the Pigpen household.

Dizzy great news that you and Mr Dizzy are in a better place; I hope those doggies are behaving themselves - otherwise Auntie Wolfy might just have to have a word with them! :D

I have to take my tired and sorry self out to the kitchen in a moment - there's half a pot of unpasteurised cream to use up, and I'm under instruction to turn it into choccie mousse. So first stop is the back garden for a sprig of rosemary.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Fab news Dizzy and Pigpen, hope things continue to move in a positive direction for you.

    Today I've:
    Cleaned the bathroom
    Dusted and...
    Hoovered upstairs
    Made fruit jelly sweets and...
    Flapjack
    Wm x 2
Tidied: kitchen, garage and did a massive tidy up of the garden. The latter being a bit of a mission as we're currently landscaping the hill aka 'the garden'.

Also watered about eleventy billion plants and seedlings. Need to get a big rain dance going.

Great news, Dizzy. A big squishy hug for you.

Put a load of washing out on the line before work this morning. I took it in as soon as I got home, and hey presto it started raining for the first time in what seems like weeks. Dusted the bedrooms first thing - it still amazes me how Natty and Valli where I don't clean. How did you see those flies in my lampshades, Natty??

I even cleaned the bathroom when I got back this afternoon. Go me - that's twice in less than a week!

I've cleared out a lot of random paperwork that had been breeding. Most of it was rubbish or shredding, so I'm not really sure why I hadn't done it before.

It's absolutely bucketing down outside now....

ETA - thanks Ducky Do for the raindance...it's certainly working!

Hello everyone...grizzly drizzle here, but that's because I signed the consent form for Tiny to have sun cream applied at preschool. Summer is now over ladies and I take full responsibility.

It's amazing how much more I can get done when my mood lifts. Instead of ploughing through my day feeling like I'm encased in thick jelly, I can think ahead and get on an organise things. Please let this continue :) Thank you all for your support - it's so very appreciated x

Yesterday I organised six replacement propane gas canisters, made another vet appointment for madam for her hip and elbow scoring, ironed for a thousand hours, instructed carpenter on site regarding windows and small repair work, put out a message on FB regarding the huge excess of eggs my girls are laying and was immediately flooded with requests for sales (which was great!), sorted, filed and/or shredded an entire box of paperwork and loads more.

I know the feeling. Very flat today. Facing 2hrs of HMRC webinars. While I wouldn't go back to those days for anything (2yrs on Monday:j:T) there are times a stiff drink would be a kindness.

The lovely sun has gone and I didn't get to the gym first thing, so I have that jelly feeling. I am going to make my lunch now or I'll end up snacking throughout the webinars. Then I have a pile of long put off sewing to do - might as well multitask:rotfl:

After that I need to do a Lidl trip and also Waitrose  Why is it the only place that does 2% Total? It's dangerous just going through the doors.:rotfl:
