    Well, they can't do anything to your business over here, and I doubt they'd try even if you were in the states. Honestly, sounds like a story for this website!
    Block his email etc and move on. Make sure you don't sell to him again!

    Yes, it does sound like blackmail doesn't it. I know i should just ignore it but i've worked hard on my business and that sort of threat sets me off, you know.

    I can understand how you muust feel after working hard to get your business running but there is nothing that your customer can do except give a bad review of your business {that, if your website is able can be answered with what you have done/tried to do for others to make their own minds up}
    I know it is hard but ignore it and move on as they are trying to take you for a mug and once you fall into that trap your business will fail.
    There are far more honest people than scum like that out in the wide world and they are the ones to look to not toe rags {be it in this country or elsewhere in the world:)

    This is the initial threat.

    "You're way too late. I run out of patience with you. Now I will contact every state attorney general offices and appropriate federal authorities about you and your fake internet business"

    Its all talk, state attorneys and the feds have better things to be doing over in America.

    Is this the first customer who has been an issue ?
    First 1 from America too ?

    Looking at the shopify website they seem to have a support section, it could be an idea to let them know what the customer is trying to do to you and if poss can they at least warn other sellers of the way your "xyz" has tried to scam you that way others are fore warned if they tried it with other on the site

    .. he will shut me down if i do not 'satisfy' him in the next 5 days.

    Mark

    I think you'll have to fly over to the USA to fulfill that one :eek:

    On a serious note, do yourself a favour and don't do business overseas unless you have a distributor over there. Keep it in the UK.

    More than likely you've been scammed by a 13 year old who is probably bragging about his gains on a youtube video right now..

    Also report him to shopify. Firstly, he is not the first customer who hasn't received an order. If FBI tried to look into all of the cases, they would have to employ millions of people. Secondly, you refunded him. So if there is an option, block him and report him to shopify. They will hopefully remove him from the website.

    Thanks, it's through my shopify website. I don't know what else i can do, i refunded him in full and he may well receive the orders anyway.

    Depends which shipping method you've used. I once years and years ago used standard parcel to America. I think it took 6 weeks to get there. If you've done the refund (through the method he paid with - like paypal so it's all traceable) I wouldn't even reed the emails any more
