Being threatened by a customer.

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place. Please move if it is.

I sold an item to someone in the USA and they did not receive the order. I sent a replacement which also did not arrive. He had now contacted me saying that he is going to inform the fed and everyone he can to stop me and is saying that my business is fake and that i must pay. I have refunded him in full and have even said that i will resend the order as a gesture. He is now given me a timeframe and said that he will shut me down if i do not 'satisfy' him in the next 5 days. Is this bluster or would he have a case?

Thanks guys

Mark

I doubt the FBI are going to have much interest in your business, unless you have a sideline in terrorism or drug smuggling.

If you operate via ebay or similar they could complain to them, but a single complaint would be unlikely to get you banned.

If you've already refunded him, that should be the end of the matter. I wouldn't bother sending another item.

As if the FBI would be interested in a case like this ... and they don't have jurisdiction in the UK anyway.

Thanks, it's through my shopify website. I don't know what else i can do, i refunded him in full and he may well receive the orders anyway.

Just ignore the oaf. You've done nothing wrong, he's a jerk ... and a foreign jerk '000s of miles away too.

This is what happens online, jerks aren't denied access to the Internet unfortunately.

Put it down to "Customer was an Idiot", forget he ever existed and move on.

I literally could not have offered him a better deal yet he still thinks he can shut businesses down. It's not my fault Royal Mail lost them.

Personally I think this is more than likely a scam, order goods then state they never received it, request {or get offered} a replacement no questions asked, get second item then say once again nothing arrived so I want a full refund or else. If no fast reply or full refund not fast enough then dire threats of what will happen.
I would ignore ALL emails ect from them as IMO there is nothing that they can do except frighten you and I think that it is one of the closest to blackmail I have heard in a long time.

Yes, it does sound like blackmail doesn't it. I know i should just ignore it but i've worked hard on my business and that sort of threat sets me off, you know.

    This is the initial threat.
