After my 6 hours defleaing children yesterday.. DD4 has come home with huge great monsters again!!!! I never even got the stuff washed off her hair and she has them!!!!!! I have chucked a strop at the nursery.. in front of ALL the parents, said it is not good enough and parents HAVE to be told.. they may not be allowed to say ' your child has lice' but they can say ' I saw something in your childs hair today while they were playing beside me. Obviously I couldn't have a closer look but we have had reports of lice in the nursery'.. no 'diagnosis' made and the parents are informed. AND all the louse letters are sent out on English.. in a school where 25% of the children aren't and many of the parents have very little English so probably don't understand the letters.. maybe that is something I can address in the Governors meeting next month..
Anyway.. more tea.. more tea!!!
Oh I sent DS1 to post the remaining bag of parcels.. I have 2 more to go, one is in the TD and the other has disappeared!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

lil_me I getcha now
pigpen I feel your anger, it happens at our school all the time, there's just no need for it. It takes hours to wet comb DD2's hair thoroughly, and I wouldn't care even after being lotioned the little blighters are still alive and kicking, I just wet comb them now till they're gone.
Took me ages to summon up the energy to make the tea, it's not as if it's anything hard, hot dog buns and chips, not healthy or nutritious but I really can't be bothered tonight, hoping to catch a bath later. x0 -
A mum I know shaved her daughters heads because she was tired of the constant nits.....0
-
embb I combed their little heads off last night.. I had 3 (aged 2, 4 and 6) of them crying by the time I'd done and they get them straight back.. hopefully enough of the parents heard me having a strop earlier and will sort their little treasures tonight.. and I'm not averse to standing at the gates shaving heads as they go in!!!! I think it is about time they had drops for the backs of their necks that last a month like I use on the cat.. or a spray.. or a sheep dip.. Of the 8 children, 6 had lice.. 2 were REALLY bad and hubby had them too!! only me and DS1 didn't have them!! I just don't think it is fair these have to spend every evening being combed just because of some parents are too lazy or simply don't care..
anyway.. enough stropping frmo me.. I MUST Get these curtains made for the middle room it is freezing in there and the bunnies have frost bite!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Pigpen - that is a very good point I hadn't thought of in our school - we have a VERY high number of EAL (english additional language) kids, I might bring that up at our next proper meeting  I know the website with information on is only available in English cause I'm the webmistress and I only speak English :rotfl: I am looking into ways of translating things into other languages thoughCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Hi Ladies and pigpen, I hope you can help me get 'on track'. I work 3 days a week - mon, weds & friday. I thought this would give me 2 days to keep the house nice but somehow they just get frittered away. I am going to try your schedule for encouragement!
As you can see I have made a start - let's hope I can keep this up. I wonder how to do the days that I work though.

Didn't get too much of the list done, but did do a HUGE pile of ironing, finished my pickled onions and put together ~(and sent) a parcel for my daughters boyfriend who is feeling lonely at uni.
Thank goodness my kids have gone past the 'coming home with lice' stage. I remember going into school to complain after my youngest came home repeatedly with them. Her teacher told me that it was one little boy in the class, she said that when she looked down on his poor little head his hair actually moved with them! The parent was told but did nothing. We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
