Hi all, apologies for the quite spell. I was away on business and have just returned.
Thanks for the info about DVLA notices. I will keep that in mind for the next case. Anyhow, I had appealed these PINs and thus this didn't go as far as requiring DVLA involvement.
So I sent them an email saying they should discontinue otherwise I'd hold them liable for my costs in full. And explained that I would be flying back to the country. They ignored me and after I booked my tickets to come back, 5 days before the court date, they discontinued.
Frustrated that I couldn't argue my costs to a judge!
Thanks all for your help.0 -
You can now issue your own claim for wasted costs.0

OP, if you are still reading this thread, write to the court and ask it to make a costs order under R27.14(2)(g) and explain how they acted unreasonably and provide a breakdown of your costs. Say that this is a matter which can easily be dealt with on paper and say that you have sent a copy of the letter and costs schedule to the Claimant's solicitors.
Copy the letter to them.Although a practising Solicitor, my posts here are NOT legal advice, but are personal opinion based on limited facts provided anonymously by forum users. Failing all of the above, a letter of claim and your own proceedings via MCOL. Oh how the worm has turned.....0
