All sounding good but boo to the freezer. Thanks for the suggestion. Sally Army is a good idea...as a non-believer I am with your dad..and anything that helps our homeless without judgement has to be a good thing.

Bit woebegone today. Need to make a cup of tea and cheer up. Worrying about money never makes it better so need to buck up and plough on!!

have a good weekend XS. I will be doing that activity calendar..just may be for January I have now decided..to cheer us all up..aka making a new tradition :D

I hope you are feeling more cheerful this evening brizzlegirl. I know that worrying about money feeling well, it stupefies me and I can't think straight. Keep on keeping on.

I love the idea of doing an activity calendar in January as a new tradition, I am going to pinch it. It's such a long month some activities will help break up the monotony and ensure we play with the Lego and art stuff DH is getting from Santa as well as get outside on a weekend. I might do envelopes on a string or notes in a jar :)

DH has fixed the freezer! We have lost the 2 half and 1 full tub of ice cream and I have a few things that will need to be eaten up over the next couple of days. Thankfully the fish was in one of the bottom drawers and has remained frozen. A couple of bits have had to go in the bin and I am risking re-freezing some of the not very defrosted bits (not meat). Luckily there was only 1 pack of 2 chicken breasts which I have cooked this afternoon and no other meat.

We have managed not to spend any money today as DS had an away match so we took our tea with us. DH has suggested we have Spend Free Sundays and I have told him about my goal of 15 this month :)

Toad in the hole has been eaten and we are about to walk the dog before DS goes to bed. Him and the dog have had me up since 5.30am this morning. DS woke with cramp and then remembered the Elf arrived last night. I might have got him back off but then the dog woke up for a wee and DS followed me downstairs.

I am not away this coming week so my plan is to tidy the house from top to bottom. This includes putting away laundry, some ironing, putting the decs boxes back in the loft along with the suitcases, selling the DVDs, CDs and books to get them out of the house and taking stuff to the charity shop. I have the hall tree to put up and the mantlepieces to dress and then the decorations will be done inside. DH can put the light up reindeer on the lawn later.

DH is away 2 nights and at the gym 2 nights so in theory I have a lot of time to get things organised this week. It will keep my mind off the decision about my job which should happen at the end of the week.:(

I have amended my signature to remove the furniture finance until they set it up. I have had the furniture since January! I amended my order to remove an item and it looks like there was a breakdown somewhere and the new agreement was never set up. I have been in contact with the company I bought it from who have said the finance company will be in touch but I'm still waiting for them to send me an agreement. I will add it back on when it is finally set up.

I will also add on the CC spending on the other card at the end of the month. This will be cleared by the end of January. I will have to put the cost of the CV re-write on here too.

I haven't spent any money this week and am making a list of the items I need to spend money on as I am going to attempt to do it all on one day at the weekend.

Carpet OP pot is now over £100 thanks to the interest on the current account.

I have had my 1 and only meeting for this week cancel this morning so I am going to work like crazy to get all my reports and work completed by tomorrow evening and then I am going to spend Thursday doing stuff in the house/items off my 19 before 19 list while still keeping things ticking over on the work front.

    Job decision day is Friday:(

Good luck for Friday XSpender. Maybe regardless of the outcome, number 19 on your list (having your CV re-written) should be a priority. That said, as this is MSE, does it need to be/is there a lot of value in having it professionally re-written or could you do it yourself? :)

I do need to make the CV a priority, I keep putting it off because I like the work I do on the project. I might like another job better, will certainly be able to find a better employer and should be able to earn a better salary.

Because I work as a consultant lots of jobs may fit me and I need a CV that shows my skills, rather than a job title, with lots of key words in it that will come up when a recruiter does a search. They also write your linked in profile which is a common way of being approached for my kind of job. I rewrote it myself recently and have only had one agency contact me and have had lots of views on my linked in profile but only 1 contact. I need to up my game :)

My plan of saving up all my spending for one day this weekend has fallen at the first hurdle as I couldn't find a stamp to post my BF birthday card and I had a request from my ex-pat Dad for a document of mine to be posted that he needs for residency if Brexit finally goes through. He's only lived there 15 years! I also bought a book of stamps for posting Christmas Cards.

Because I am spending I am ordering the blind needed for the guest room which my Mum will stay in at Christmas as it has no blind/curtains up at the minute. They use that room as it has an en-suite which they prefer. I am also going to order tickets for an event/activity for DS & DH for their surprise present off me. They only cost £20 for both of them.

I could do with a winter coat for work as mine is getting scruffy. I've seen one on N3xt that I will ask DH to get me for Christmas. He can't think what to get me so I might as well have something I need.

I got the call today to say I am not being redundant, about 4 hours after my colleague rang me to tell me it was her. :( Feeling sad today so I am going to have a bottle of beer tonight. DH said he would have one too to celebrate but I don't feel like celebrating.:(

I have to say I haven't got much work done today but have had a lovely catch up with another colleague in a different team.

DS and I have put up the hall tree and tried to make his Christmas decoration kit but we need different glue.

Lost a NSD today as DH bought lunch at work.

I've done the meal plan for the rest of this week and next week. I am away 1 night and can live out of the freezer the rest of the time. My shopping list is nice and short this week.

Not much to report on debt busting as I am trying to keep my budget in tact for this month.

ETA: Finally found out when DH school play is today. It's Tuesday!
