Party decisions are always tricky. I ended up having DC3's a bit late this year (only a week) due to logistics. Can you sound out anyone else to confirm how many the other girl is having? I would be inclined to offer an alternative treat if you can't get confirmation, as there is nothing more depressing being the party that no one goes to. What would he think about it being two weeks later? Mine would prefer an alternative treat activity I think.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

Parties are hard! My DD and her best friend 'share' the same birthday weekend. So now we 'take turns' in who has the weekend before/on their birthday and the weekend after. To be honest both my DD and her friend nearly invite the same guests :rotfl: But they don't seem to mind.
DS however has never been invited to a birthday party and he's my eldest. I was so shocked when everyone invited actually turned up at his party.

I asked DS on the drive home if he wanted a party or would he prefer he had a treat that we could do as a family. I suggested Lightwater Valley or maybe an overnight stay somewhere. He said he would prefer to do something as a family as he feels bad that he could only have 10 people to the party and some of his friends would get left out. Bless him. He has opted for a family visit to the new inflatable park and KFC for tea. He is so sweet he wanted KFC but because I cant eat it he offered to have something else. I said I would just make my own so it looked like theirs. :A
I will do him a party tea one afternoon over the weekend and invite the outlaws and will get him a piñata for some fun as he hasn't had one before.
WF - I am shocked that your DS has never been invited to a party. I hope they return the favour now they have attended his. When DS was little the whole class would get invited. As they get older and it is clip and climb, trampolining and other activity based parties at £15-£17/head the numbers drop and with DS being the new boy he is last on the list.
Managed 2 items off my list today. The decision about the party and the trial session with the trainer. The session was intense, my abs and my legs from hip to ankle are aching, I hate to think what I will be like tomorrow  I came out knackered which is what I want from a session. There was only 3 of us at this session and I have said I will see the other lady there on Friday.
I have prepped some chicken for tomorrow but the soup and sauce wont get made as I have an appointment in the morning an hour south, come home for a couple of hours and then drive to Scotland again.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Well done to DS on the party decision, bless him. And the KFC!
I'm not sure how far north you are (I'm guessing fairly far!) but even so driving an hour south and then to Scotland sounds somewhat tedious, poor you.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

North East, TOPM. Glasgow is about 3 hours north from home.
I’m at a meeting today and will pick DS up about 6.30pm. Meal plan says soup and as I didnt have time to make it I will have to pop the local supermarket and pick up some.
One of my projects has been temporarily put on hold so I have 2 days this week to catch up on everything work wise and prepare for the next week or 2. It also means I will have time to get some of the stuff that needs doing at home done.

I got home a good hour earlier than expected and as DPIL were at the park in the village with DS I didn't need to drive there and back to their house to pick him up so saved myself another 40 mins
I'm looking forward to 2 days at home to catch up with myself, I might even get some housework done
I am sooooo wanting to pay off the £599.42 on the virgin card but need to wait until the end of the month when I get my bonus as if it didn't come through for some reason we would be snookered.
I was going to consolidate the remaining £1038 onto a fee free 0% card with the balance of DH Virgin card in July but am going to see if I can clear this with various bits and bobs of OPs by the time the 0% deal runs out on 30th September. That gives me 5 pay days to do it which should be achievable
I ordered 2 books for DS birthday and a moon cup for me from Amazon using vouchers from shop and scan. I still haven't bought DS a birthday card. The last time I was in the city I went into 2 card shops, a department store and smiths and couldn't see a single card I liked. They were all either for babies or for grown up sons, nothing in between.
The budget will need some shuffling as we have DS end of season team lunch on Sunday and are having an internal door replaced on Saturday. I am sick of looking at the cupboard innards and found a local joiner who will supply and fit the awkward size for a reasonable price. It's going to be an expensive month with DS birthday too but I am so pleased we managed to pay for his bike without completely raiding the pots or putting anything on a credit card.

Thanks for the link. I tried their shop first but the range was a lot smaller than on line. I am going to try Asda at the weekend too.
Slight change to today's list as DH didn't sort his dry cleaning out
