Make the landlord aware of this especially as he is responsible for the actions of CPM and CPM are responsible for the actions of DRP

Tell the landlord that there is a police incident number and tell him that before this goes too far, you expect him to cancel this ticket with confirmation of cancellation in writing or email

I was followed from one town to another whilst driving with my baby daughter in the car and was told my vehicle was going to be seized.

This cannot be the private parking case, cannot possibly be DRP. Must be about another debt that's gone to bailiffs.

    This cannot be a PPC.

  • mistercesq has poor experience of CPM as a landowner.
Agree that you should approach the pub and pressurise them to get it withdrawn.
Are you certain it was that "debt" and not another?

Is it definitely for the same invoice?

It's definitely very odd - a real bailiff would have ID and paperwork. Was it a branded vehicle? What vehicle was it? What was he wearing?

I'd contact DRP to find out what is going on. Give them all the details but frame it that you're worried that someone is trying to impersonate them. See what they say - they'll either say it's legitimate (harassment, attempt to gain by deception) or they'll say it's not their guy (so they are being impersonated, attempt to gain by deception) and take whatever they give you to the police because someone is breaking the law somewhere.

If it happens again, get straight onto 999 - any legitimate bailiff (which this cant't be*) will be happy for police assistant, any thug/fraudster will run away.

*Unless it's been through the County Court, you've lost, it's resulted in a debt of over £500 and then been passed through a High Court, but then the bailiff still wouldn't have anything to do with DRP. Could be DCBL but again, they'd have real paperwork and be wearing uniform.
  • I have no other debts. He said it was about my unpaid parking fine. I only have one parking fine.
  • I have now emailed the landlord of the pub and he said he is going to investigate what happened as he has also never heard of this happening.
  • Unbranded small white van. No uniform as such, just a shirt and tie with an id badge. No paperwork. He did not stick around to wait for police.

This fine is the only thing it could possibly be.

I think that is NOT connected to this parking charge at all (cannot be Debt Recovery Plus, they do not turn up at all, they send letters). I think that's a scammer impersonating a bailiff and you should report this to Police.

An expert poster on this would be herbie21.
