I currently pay £44 a month for tv, Variety, F1, boxsets.
They have offered if I drop f1 and hd
Variety for £19.80 or with boxsets £22.80
(40% off) 18 month contract
Do I keep sky or look at freesat etc?

Do you watch much TV ?
Could you do without the F1 coverage from sky?
It looks like its every other race that is live on channel 4 and highlights for the rest, would that be sufficient ?
Id ditch it an either get freesat or go for something like Now TV.0 -

tbh I could do without f1 as don't really like sky coverage and hd would not miss. and I tend to watch normal channels.
like the idea of boxsets and watching discovery at times.0 -

I think it's a case of deciding which channels you want access to and, if applicable, how much you are prepared to spend each month to pay for them.
The best discount that seems to be doing the rounds is 60%, which tends to appear on your mysky account once you have actually given notice. That should give you an idea of what you could potentially be paying each month.
Another forum member suggested looking at Now TV. Off the top of my head, you'd be able to get a basic box for about £15, and subscribing to the Entertainment pass was £6.99 per month when I last looked (I think Discovery is part of this pass, but stand to be corrected).
Hope this helps.0 -

From time to time, you get great deals with Now TV boxes. I bought one last month for £20 including 6 months Entertainment Pass. I got my first box in March for £15 plus three months.0

Agreed - I got two boxes for £30 including 6 month Entertainment passes - having said that I haven't got real value out of the pass as I have only watched a few hours of the "paid for" content on the extra TVs in the past 5 months. Main use has been for catch up stuff on ITV Hub and I Player -also you can cast from Youtube etc using mobile or tablet, which is quicker & easier than using the Youtube app on the box itself.:)0 -

I struggled at first to find stuff to watch, and I've only watched box sets and catch up, no live channels. I've found it some programmes I really like though; Billions, Little Big Lies, The Young Pope, some National Geographic documentaries, and some good one offs on Sky Arts. We are re-watching Sex and the City, and we've just started Game of Thrones. I will probably alternate between Netflix and Now TV in future, so I'm only paying one subscription at any one time.0
