Speeding up iPhone4s

  • Apple have lost their way. I had a very expensive iPhone 7 for 6 months and I didn't like it so I have swapped back to my iPhone 5s which imo is a much nicer phone and it has an earphone jack. My next phone will be an SE when the 5s dies.
If apple phase out earphone jack's from all devices in the future then I will not be buying an iPhone again.

Every company has its pros and cons and like human beings companies are not perfect and make mistakes.

We will agree to disagree on the innovation part as what we determine as "huge" for innovation is not measurable but instead based on a personal subjective view point. What I do know is that i would rather have the apple products of today than 5 years ago and if they did not innovate then current products would not be useful and therefore apple would be losing money.

But as you say time will tell.

The iPhone 4 was released in 2010.

Why would anyone expect a 7 year old phone do be anything but completely obsolete?

Your family member won't find any smart phone that is still nippy in 7 years. No matter which mobile OS they go with.

Yeah, fair play for keeping the old clunker going.
You seem to think that Apple are solely responsible for 'planned obselence' and they're abusing their own customers by deliberately making their own hardware go slow with their new software.
    Well, OK then.
Get a 2010 Android device and put Nougat (the latest Android version) on it.
If you DO find a device that'll take it, it won't be officially, and it won't work well.
Android device manufacturers actually have a worse reputation than Apple for not keeping their devices up to date. With the exception of the Nexus line, they're poor.
But sure keep on sticking it to Apple.

You seemed to have only read the 1st third of my post. Is there another manufacturer, keeping 2010 smartphones up to date? Do Google? Do Microsoft? Do Samsung? Do Sony? No, they do not. But you single Apple out like they're doing something evil, and no-one else does.

there's a fair amount of multi-tasking features and graphic features in IOS 10 (I assume that's what you have) that really slows down an iPhone. I suggest you take a look at this site to have a full list of features to be disabled.

ultimately, if your relative is still using an iPhone 4S.. maybe it's time for you to upgrade and give your mom the new hand me down :P

No I do not agree, except Microsoft on some versions of their Win OS which they admitted to, the difference is that if they install crap I do not need I can see it in task manager and disable it in services.

We're talking about PHONES! 2010 phone, latest software, not running like crap. You won't find one. But you blame Apple as if they're alone. They're not.

And if you want to digress into computers, there are plenty of 2010 PCs and Macs that will happily run the latest versions of their software just fine. On the edge for MacOS though, admittedly.
  • You can update your mobile again because I think your last update had not been installed properly so you should check for any crash. Some type of files may be crashed or missing between the new update. If you want to fix this issue within few hours then you can contact iPhone repair centre. They must have number of solutions to get your phone working once again.
