Do you not think we tried every option available over a period of 30 years before getting a car parking company involved?0 -
No site needs a private parking firm. Do you still use one?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No there is no management and its chaos.0 -
OK, and believe me I am not judging you, I read that blog before, when Pranky first posted it, and am on your side completely.
What do you mean it is chaos, do you only have a few spaces and are people using it to commute? Trying to understand why you are suffering when other sites don't.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I must add I have fought for these affected people for 2 years and today I got all their PCN's cancelled.....
I have come to contribute in a positive manner as a landowner to illustrate it is not just the motorists who are affected.
Perhaps my contributions can be viewed as this.0 -

Its a 50 space town centre car park..... that has always been free and has never been used for generating income. It is solely meant to be so our 13 tenants can have parking when customers visit their premises.0 -
OK, and I stress I am not against you, I admire what you've done but am trying to identify why this car park is chaos and what can be done about it.
Are you close to the railway station so people dump their cars?
Is there a way of turning these rogue parkers into customers?
Were some signs tried (polite and simple ones, no threats) before a PPC rocked up with their cheap cardboard signs and tape - and threats?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

when I read that blog I am on your side too, believe me
you would have thought that some of those parking companies would do a proper job , follow the laws and rules, follow the CoP they signed up to and have the decency to do as a landholder expects
yet they all follow the entrapment / extortion / intimidation route , its easier to slap charges on anyone who breaks any one of 50 different rules or make basic mistakes and suchlike
its a shame there isnt some way of ensuring that genuine customers or residents never get penalised whilst issuing reasonable "fines" on those who are not genuine or flaunt the "rules"
I dont know of any parking company that could fulfil your requirements , because they are all unscrupulous and greedy
but we do agree with your point of view and I for one commend you on fighting back as a landholder , which is a rarity at the moment0 -

We will never put parking enforcement in place again. It is better that we have rogue parkers than dealing with rogue parking companies!when I read that blog I am on your side too, believe me

Thanks, sadly the objectives of land owners and car parking companies are completely different and for this reason the current system will never work fairly for everyone. Interestingly a lot of big companies are beginning to ditch the ANPR systems as they generate too much work and too many issues! If the system had worked as promised and CPM had managed the car park in an ethical and professional manner then I'm sure it would have worked.0
