Best High street bank for paying in cash at counter?

OH runs a small business which does a lot of business in cash. He often has quite a lot of cash (including coins) to pay in the bank at regular intervals. He prefers to pay it over the counter and get the p-i book stamped by the cashier, as it acts as a double check on the amount paid in.
All the branches near us have been gradually automated leaving just Lloyds where he banks. Now that is going to be automated too. How do other people who deal in a lot of cash, including coins, manage?

There are machines for coin deposits in some banks but apart from Metro Bank they are rare.0

Our local Barclays went down to 3 days a week last year but has now increased to 4 days.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Do you mean totally automated, with no counter service at all? My local Barclays was recently refurbished to the new style human-free approach, but even they retained two tills which are usually open. (Small town, rest of the banks still have normal counter service)"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Are they? In Sheffield HSBC, Barclays and NatWest all have such machines.
I've used all 3 types and RBS/NatWest is best with lots of coin.
They need to be fairly big branches though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
30 person queue this morning at Barclays and one cashier. No one using the automatic machines.0

My HSBC takes coins really well, they've got a sorter/counter that pushes the money right into your account. The kids love it. Pretty sure metro bank have the same thing, and I've seen one in Natwest.
The HSBC is pretty much all automatic - you can put in cash, cheques without the need to talk to another human0
