I would have gone for a NowTV/Roku/... solution, no cables needed just power

hope this is part of the planning stage and not another afterthought as you need cable and power placed for the TV.

what are you doing for sound, most small TV the sound will be potential substandard.

Power was put in by electrician during kitchen work and cable was fitted a couple of days ago by aerial engineer. Now all I need is a shelf. I have photographed the noggins and measured their position for fixing.

We have a Freesat Samsung TV on the bedroom wall which is 36" I think. There was some difficulty in finding a Freesat TV.

Two cables into it as we also have a PVR for recording programmes.

The channels available from Freesat and Freeview do vary considerably. With Freesat regional programmes are available for the whole of the UK so tonight I could avoid Beechgrove Garden if I wanted to for a different programme or I can watch regional news from other regions.

Freesat hasn't got 'national' Scottish channels like BBC Alba or the new STV2 (was STV Glasgow) etc and there are various other obscure ones not on Freeview.

Mind you, where I am Freeview only gives very few channels!

My requirements for this TV are simple. I would like to watch basic stuff such as rolling news channels while chopping vegetables etc.

I have a main TV running from Freeview in sitting room, and a small one upstairs, and I can record on either of these if I want.

This one appears to be 24" screen 12-volt supply and mains

Yes, that's not a standard domestic TV, it's similar to the Avtex TVs I suggested the OP look at.

Why not use a proper wall mount.

lmao I recently broke my ankle, the fibula bone at the rear of the leg rather than the weight bearing tibia so it did not require a plaster cast only a removable boot and I had to sit on a stool to chop veg because standing on one leg was uncomfortable. No NHS but a number of nasty cuts because it was too low to chop properly.

Chopping veg while watching TV=lose of the end of a finger.

Why not use a proper wall mount.

Because I did this in the bedroom upstairs after it was decorated. TV them went on the blink and I needed to get a new one. It was impossible to get another one that would fit the existing bracket, so I had to take the old bracket down, with holes in my newly decorated wall.

I now have the bedroom one on a shelf and plan to do the same with the kitchen. I will also need to put a Freesat box on the shelf, so will need a shelf anyway as it's proving difficult to get the sort of small TV I want with a Freesat receiver built in.

    There in lies your problems

you start on path without planning to the end

you had a dish so went freesat
then you had to get a cable guy in

now you can't find a TV so have to buy a freesat box.

    now you need a shelf

how much is all this going to cost.

wall mounts are now standard about £15 for small TV one, even less if you shop around.

Internet box like a NowTV <£20(or free if you find someone upgrading) will do all the TV you want and more and no cable runs off the wi-fi.

this is a nice kitchen friendly white TV 24" (stand comes off)

24" TV are so light don't need to find studs fine mounted on the plasterboard.

Why should I not have a shelf? I like shelves.

The cost of this is just small change, so I'm not bothered about that.

I have explained why I don't want one of these.

I don't wish to pay a monthly fee. I already have the cable embedded in the wall before the plastering was done.

    What make/model is this?
