How did they know the dispatch time? Was it because it was tracked? I am not able to log into ebay and mark dispatched until I get home from work so I hope people aren't assuming I am posting at 7pm!

This situation was actually part of a bigger scenario, where you get messages with the order saying how urgent it is, and then the item went missing. I imagine he was probably hovering his mouse while on the edge of his seat the whole time! Eventually when it didn't arrive, he asked me what time I posted it. :D

  • Thanks for this, good idea :;) I didn't think to report them. I've already asked them to open a case 2 days ago, I received a message this morning saying 'please send my refund today', I offered a replacement but apparently they needed it for tomorrow :o

Just hold your nerve, no case = no refund.

If they have a case open and you don't have proof of delivery you will have to refund before day 8. Have you asked them to confirm their address and arranged an online redelivery....

My local post office is in a chain newsagents and the PO counter is open until 10pm at night. So I can take items to the PO but they won't leave there until the next day, or the Monday. So I explain that the parcel is at the PO and will enter the system the next day.

  • Collected mail on Saturdays leaves our office at 2.30pm. I think it is the same country wise.

No - I am not talking about a Saturday, and not about last collection times. The buyer was making a statement about mail only being second class after 2:30pm generally.

A great example of customer wisdom! Have you got any *pearls of wisdom* from your customers?

Yeah don't buy something and then not open it for two months like you did!
    Hi there, can anyone advise.
I have a very large garden item from Homebase. I haven't checked it nearly two months after arrival simply because it's too big to open in the house and the ground wasn't prepared for it.

Now I have opened it, the metal supports are twisted and bent beyond use. The funding for it was Credit Card. Does anyone know if Homebase can be funny about stuff not checked promptly after delivery or not?

You only have to read the self-obsessed wittering about things not arriving on exactly the expected day ('ooh, my two teeshirts didn't arrive when expected, I'm so disappointed') to realise that ebay has created a whole world of opportunities for those who have expectations which bear no relation to reality!

My latest was a buyer who wanted to know not just when I'd posted it and where(!), but when exactly it would be delivered to her house and could I 'state both date and precise time'. This was a sheet of stickers sent second class...
