Had a customer tell me today...
because I posted the item after half 2, it would only be treated as second class post, and he was annoyed because he had paid extra for first class post.
A great example of customer wisdom! Have you got any *pearls of wisdom* from your customers?

The postal issue one that always gets me, and in fact we've had a few buyers on here misunderstand this as well, is when they believe the postal service they choose trumps the sellers despatch time. So for instance if I have a 2 working day despatch my free postage is 2nd class, so someone will pay for first and expect it next day as 1st class is a 24 hour service according to ebay. If you try and explain the despatch time still exists and that in 2 days when you despatch the item will go 1st instead of 2nd, they just don't get it. They have paid extra for 1st so want it next day and call a scam if you tell them it doesn't work like that.
I've had that issue with special as well, I had a 3 day despatch on for a few days last year as I was working and couldn't get to the PO, someone paid for special late on a Friday night and insisted that meant (and ebay told her) it was guaranteed for Saturday. I cancelled that one and have now increased my special delivery prices sufficiently to put people off even considering using it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes! That's exactly a problem I have from time to time. They pay extra for first class and ignore your dispatch time, even if it's on a Saturday night - where is it Monday morning!Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. And the thousands of people that say they haven't had the parcel which is "unusual as I've got lots of other mail so it's not a problem my end" or "I bought something else on ebay the same day and that has already arrived".0

I stopped bothering to add a 1st class option a few years ago as it was so rarely used, even when it was only 30p extra, & when they did I would sometimes not notice & then have to refund it. I do get lots of buyers adding a message to the sales record, stating the day that they want the item by, or just a blunt message saying 'I need it as soon as possible'. A couple of times this has forced me to pay the extra for 1st class, although I am mostly use Hermes which is usually quick enough anyway. One buyer even sent a very polite message & stated the day she wanted the item by but 'I am not in a position to pay any extra' !0

Yep I get it too. Apart from the lawyer but. And They also ignore alot of your messages. Especially when you say I will send another one out. Nope they want a refund. I have caught a few out. And they have closed the dispute straight away. If I have had to refund. I also say this in their feedback to make other sellers aware.Work to live= not live to work0 -
Do you have any tips on how to catch them out? I'm dealing an 'INR' right now but im sure they're a scammer from previous feedback left, or just very unlucky0

Use a template email to get buyers to open a case - they only get so many. Use the report buyer button next to the transaction in eBay so they are flagged up. The ones that ask for refund and not replacement, give them a bit of extra love and appreciation in their feedback saying how sorry you are and about how unfortunate they are and their missing items. :PWarning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. How did they know the dispatch time? Was it because it was tracked? I am not able to log into ebay and mark dispatched until I get home from work so I hope people aren't assuming I am posting at 7pm!0
