I promise I will be back later with links and ideas for moneymaking. Need to help DS with his homework otherwise it is going in unfinished again as I did last month. I have told him I am not doing his homework for him but will help him. He has to start learning now otherwise will struggle in high school.

In other news, just to say if anyone has ppi on cc/storecards/catalogues, get claiming asap.

I helped a friend who had ppi on a mothercare account, she didn't even realise until found a recent statement. So after fighting with the PPI companies for months, as it had been sold from one business to another, to another, we went to the underwriters. Lo and behold the 3rd company it had been sold to agreed it had been missold and would pay out.... let's just say on PPI of £200, my friend got back £3K :T:j

so time is running out for claiming. If anything over 6 years old you may struggle to get ppi back, but its worth trying.

if you ever had a storecard or catalogue they had ppi on there but called it something else.

So get your fingers on that paperwork and get dialling/going online and claiming. Do not use ppi companies as they take a large percentage of what you are due. My friend's money is all hers less postage and copying costs.

    Very good advice, Aesop:T. Thanks.

Congratulations on helping your friend to achieve such a mega result:T. How lovely to have a friend like you:A

I recently discovered I had PPI on a credit card purely by chance when I requested paperwork from the company in respect of a totally unrelated query. They sent loads of stuff back, including old statements:j. I didn't have any copies of statements myself as I tended to throw things out once the bill was paid (unlike OH who saves stuff for a lifetime:rotfl:) and I had no idea I ever had PPI on this account:o. It was closed a few years ago anyway. I know for sure that I didn't apply for/ask for PPI so I'm hoping I have grounds for a repayment. A long time has elapsed, way more than 6 years, but I live in hope and have set the claim wheels in motion;)

:A:T:j:beer: throwing good luck emojis your way. I really hope you get some money back. they are paying interest at 8% less tax and compensation so I hope you get some good money back.

Intriguing thread. Some interesting ideas to earn money, some more risky ones. Does anyone have a link to the original, i.e. where it all started? Do you differentiate between true rewards i.e. those you get for buying things you would have anyway and rewards to entice you to spend more?
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

it started many years ago. you would have to trawl through the board to get back to the beginning. or you can try looking at Batgirl's profile as she started it and the link should be under her threads started.

what we tend to do is if we get a discount on something we were buying anyway put that money aside as that is money saved.

reward to entice you to spend more? i dont think many of us do that, unless we can get something out of it. frugal/tight lot we are....:rotfl:

ok folks. we have someone asking on another thread how folk manage to make so much money a month while working full time with a family.

So can we get some lovely posts going showing how you all manage to earn money, and how you do it,ie apps, selling on ebay, facebook, etc.

Let's give some inspiration to those wondering how we manage to earn extra every month.

For a long time I'd just look at the thread title and think you had to actually make £10 each day rather than it being an average, I also didn't realise you didn't have to commit to the whole £10.

I've not been participating for long and have never actually made the full £10 a day but I've certainly made more than I would have if I *hadn't* been participating.

I'd never gotten into doing surveys before but have made nearly £20 doing that and reading about CBCs table top sales prompted me to look for one locally.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

They are very good points you have made. I remember when I first signed upto the thread I was like I can't commit to £10 but I stuck with the thread. I wanted to know how I could make the £10. I mean £10 on top of my maternity pay would come in very handy.

I used to read all the posts and sign up for things I saw posted.

I started following more threads on mse about selling on ebay and other sites. Facebook selling pages didn't even exist then.

I never ever made £5 a day let alone £10 in the first 2 years but I did make extra.

It also set me up.to sign up for survey sites I had never heard off and am still going with some of them namely shop and scan and consumer pulse.

Yes they pay in vouchers rather than cash but when I was able to give my husband £50 next vouchers earnt across both sites and say here you go, it was pretty exciting for me.

We have seen people become debt free, mortgage free and move on. It's great, it's heart warming to see people can really turn their lives around with just that little bit extra each month.

From this I have seen people spin off become bloggers, there are facebook groups dedicated to earning extra money. So it works.
