I had insisted I wanted a conclusion/cancellation before the date CEL would increase the change to £70.
A the others have said, there really was no need whatsoever to even glance at the bribe 'deadline'. How does it matter to you?! You will not be paying anything!

Appeal as per the NEWBIES thread, win it on appeal (dead easy, no-one loses v CEL) then email the NHS Trust again once you have won and rant again.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi everyone.

I have just sent off my appeal to CEL via email. There was an automated reply saying they will contact me via post within 28 days. Will I get a POPLA code before and separate from this? If I need to appeal to POPLA that needs doing before day 28 which is over the coming weekend.

PS. Regarding your previous replies, using the 14 day bribe date as a date I wanted the Trust to resolve the issue, it was just what i thought was a convenient way to put a time frame on it rather actually being worried about that date.

    Thanks everyone.

they have up to 35 days to respond , if they dismiss your appeal the POPLA code will be with the dismissal

you then have 28 days from that popla code date to appeal to popla , so that time hasnt started yet

Just to reassure the OP that CEL will not contest a well prepared POPLA appeal pertaining to the PennineAcute sites - they will make you wait and then withdraw at the last moment.

I've seen off over a dozen of these Pennine Acute/CEL claims at POPLA so if and when you get a POPLA code drop me a PM and I'll provide you with all the info you need to get it quashed.

Great offer for you there @OP. Myriddin has regularly contributed to the forum and knows what to do/say/write.

@Myriddin Thank you so much for that offer. If for nothing else, the reassurance this forum provides makes it priceless... but that is a step beyond and an offer I won't turn down if POPLA appeal becomes necessary! Don't know how often CEL drop it prior to that, but I want rid of them as early as possible. (Without giving them a penny that is.) Although I assume at least some of my £2 whenever I park at the hospital goes to them.... that will annoy me forever.

It's more than likely that nothing of that £2 passes to CEL. They (like almost every PPC) offer their services free of charge to the landowner provided they can earn money by penalising anyone who dares to make the slightest of errors and infringing one or more of their rules designed to be failed.

Attractive to landowners, especially those who fail to engage the grey matter (or those without any) and stand back and question 'How will this affect our key stakeholders?' (Key stakeholders - patients/visitors in hospitals/surgeries, residents in housing estates, shoppers in retail parks, passengers taking trains, boats and planes etc, etc.).

Once they sign up the contract, and after the proverbial starts to hit the fan, they find that the cancellation clauses are so eyewateringly punitive (ParkingEye/Somerfield was almost a third of a million) that the contractor finds they are stuck with the PPC's ravishing of their customers at will, and nowt much they can do about it.

The Trust keep everything from the machines but they also get 20% of any recovered charges. The Trust also stumped up out of Public monies for all the site signage as well . It's a disgusting arrangement!

I've always ranted about paying hospital parking without knowing the actual details being sure it was a scam... that PCN sent me over the edge.

Corbyn wants free hospital parking and an end to NHS/public sector pay freeze, May wants to bring back fox hunting.... some tough choices!?
