I do not know why <snip>.

Whilst Medion might not link to a Windows 7 Drivers on their website, the manufacturer of the component in question might have an updated Driver. For instance, Realtek.
So the website in question may link to the updated Windows 7 and upward, Drivers.
They can often be tracked down by Hardware ID.
If you don't know even this, why are you offering advice on a tech forum?

Cutting and pasting links does not qualify

My ACER Aspire 5100 has no Windows 7 Drivers on the ACER website and certainly no 64 bit Drivers.
But there are many updated Drivers available from the manufacturers websites and I have every Driver installed, for both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Not once did I refer to the ACER website for a Driver.

You jumped on me when I posted about a COA sticker for £5 because there was one for £2.50

Do you imagine that I ever read your posts, other than when 'advice' to an OP?

This is a money saving website. Don't be surprised if someone posts a better deal than you recommend.
Anyway...you didn't post anything to do with a COA sticker for £5. It was a product key without a COA sticker for £5.
I simply pointed out that you can get the same thing for half the price. This is the point of a money saving website....

Just in case anyone takes this advice and tries to upgrade to the T9300, expect problems.

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5250
    PPGA478

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9300

    BGA479, PGA478

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7800 might work.

Suffice to say, no foundation in your post, just another attack on my post.

No problem, I will explain my thinking

    CPU support is determined by

    Intel GM965M

I have upgraded loads of laptops from this era, they are very forgiving compared to these days.

So what CPU's are supported by Intel GM965M

Turns out quite a few but my choices were conservative:

Also as I said, this is not my first Rodeo

    1P1gxEY.png

I bought 4 laptops with lower CPU than the spec of the medion upgraded them all and have done load

Now I appreciate some will struggle but there are videos like the one I quoted and with an old machine like this is quite a bit of fun to achieve it.

But HEY do not take my word

Upgraded from a t5550 to a t9500cpu with a Samsung evo ssd running windows 7 64 bit. CPU index is a 6.2 and hdd index is a 7.7. The thing is 10 years old and running like a champ

    Upgrade T2370 to T9300 on Asus F7l with GM965

    Hi,
After extensive research and Doubts resolved through CPU-Upgrade.com and CPU-World.com, I Purchased only $ 17 a T9300 for my laptop Asus F7L, with northbridge GM965.
Before the FSB was 533 MHZ, now is 800 MHz.
Just plugged the pc is started like a rocket without any problems.
Not only the execution is very fast, but the temperatures are a lot more 'low.
Better than That I could not expect.

It might fit, but work sub optimally.

Either way, a waste of time and energy unless the OP has professed an interest in upgrading the CPU.....

    Dear Friends..
I am Back from the Coma...!!! After a long reign of anticipation..I finally recd.my new Dell 90 W adaptor p/no.MK947 & guess what...??????:twitch: Here lies the answer to all our prayers...My Processor C2D T9300@2.5 GHz actually started to work full fledged & in complete auto mode..so that concludes..

1.) There was nothing wrong with the MOBO or PM965 chipset,It can support 800 FSB.
2.) There was no compatibility issue regarding PPGA478/PGA478 Socket..it is the same thing.
3.) There was nothing like 65(Merom) to 45(Penryn) nm transition issue considering the TDP & socket are appropriate.

& lastly,The BIOS was always recognising the processor from the begining(otherwise it won't POST),it was just that the BIOS was unable to retrieve any information about my battery (dead) & charger so as a preventive measure it was running the cpu on the lowest Default multiplier & VID..Also,there was nothing like newer processor-old mobo etc..coz i now feel once a processor fits into a socket.. it succeeds ,there and then, infact once a processor has a socket type mentioned to it..any m/c's (having that socket type) latest BIOS update would know the processor identity & operations.

So,finally my "Quest for the Ultimate Truth" stands rewarded..not to mention with all of your support..& as a result of which its concluded that even an outdated processor like intel core2duo T5250@1.5 GHz can be updated to a respectable T9300@2.5 GHz(In a laptop & even by a novice like me) & an almost extinct m/c like Dell Inspiron 1520 could be revived & brought foth to match & compete with the best of the DDR2 & some DDR3 age Inspirons & Other HP,IBM devices..My m/c is now zoomingly snappy...I have posted my 3Dmark06 scores,my WEI & CPU-Z data snapshots..

I never think it is a waste of time

    It is all education

I have never bothered much with overclocking except for one desktop

So I will look in locking both the cores in dual IDA at 13.5 multiplier.

You can pick up a 1545 on eBay for £40 odd then add bargain components as they come along. They are ideal Laptop for upgrading as the CPU and Lan and Memory are all accessible from a panel.

I do not have an SSD on the 1545 because it just seems to fly, but I am interested to see if it can be pushed further.
