Not my error, the medion site maybe, I DID explain it above.

To answer your question, NO, it is not worth your time, you have been asked to ignore my posts but you carry on nit picking, confusing users, polluting threads and so it goes on and on and on.

I have seen this kind of obsessive behaviour before, in DSMV

As I said above and now below, OP needs to check their machine

OP already checked their machine and gave us the model number; MD 96350. It is just that you decided to ignore it.

You really need to stop with your almost wholly erroneous posting and then instead of apologising to all concerned, blaming everyone else.
Now you try to blame Medion, when they clearly state which model number belongs to which and me for pointing out your mistakes. :)
Yes, we have seen that type of behaviour here before.

As to your link to a German model(and therefore different model number), that is because the WIM 2140 Motherboard is installed in more than one model.
This must be really embarrassing for you. Why don't you just stop?
You aren't helping the OP at all...as usual.
Are you suggesting that I am confusing users by giving them the correct information? :rotfl:
Whereas your long posts with completely erroneous advice.....

Perhaps I need to explain it again, try reading your own post

    4XeK8c2.jpg

    Now look carefully

it seems that the model you quote in green has the letters UK on it and right next to that is the MSN number 30007792

Now the yellow one does too but who knows where you found that (no links provided)

I suspect that there were later and earlier models.

As I said I am not responsible for Medion site nor for your failure to comprehend

try going through the quote below, again, maybe you will get it right this time.

It's your mistake and no one else's.

Found on the Medion support website here: https://www.medion.com/gb/service/start/_search.php?groupID=1&groupName=Laptop

Scroll down to MD 96350 and you'll see two models. The OP's model is MEDION AKOYA MD 96350 UK / MSN: 30007261

MD 96350 A-UK links to MD 96630, so clearly is not the OP's model....since he stated that it is the MD 96350 :)

Need you be reminded that the laptop is nearly ten years old. Do you think that the likes of HP, ACER, Lenovo would have supplied up to date Drivers for a laptop from 2007?
    Wow.....

That machine looks as if it has been upgraded to max memory, but I think it will be fine for just browsing. If you find it unusable you can install a lite version of Linux.

    For reference purposes

    This page shows upgrade options.

    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/medion-laptop-am-i-able-upgrade-processor-329995/

Although contrary to link above it seems that the CPU could be swapped out

    xlIq7w6.png

I have seen this type on many systems, all you is turn this screw and swap out the CPU taking care to match the gold mark at bottom left

    PBFDO5parHJDWHEb.medium

Looking at firmware for your machine you could use this T9500 at £30, it is 2nd hand so should not incur import duty but to be certain getting this T9300 for £15 will keep you under custom value limit

    This video shows hardware dismantle

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZtm36GbenY

If you are just browsing you may find you are fine without these upgrades.

BTW Link for downloads does not seem to have any for win7, in my experience most Vista drivers like these will work with Win7, there are actually two pages of drivers both seem to be limited to vista and XP

    Page 1

    Page 2

    Hope this helps

Just in case anyone takes this advice and tries to upgrade to the T9300, expect problems.

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5250
    PPGA478

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9300

    BGA479, PGA478

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7800 might work.

    Great!

Now this is the page you should download from

    http://www.medion.com/gb/service/_lightbox/treiber.php?msn=30007261

They will be Vista drivers but will probably just ask you to say it is OK to use them.

Well viruses, malware and adware are discovered over time, the sites bring out new versions all the time.

One site is enough for me but more so because I have been offered advertising pushed via these kind of sites, toolbars, search bots, even software saying it is AV software but delivering ads.

I can't say what is in it only that they do not offer their driver toolkit for nothing, it has a payload, whether it be ads or something worse, time will tell. Usually they do nothing for weeks till people forget they installed it.

No one suggested installing "Driver Toolkit". The direct downloads to the Drivers are on that page.

Of course the OP should only refer to that page should they not be able to find updated Drivers elsewhere....
