It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

  • I bet your wee mammy is so proud of you. A son who bakes for her and her pals. You'll be the talk of the steamie.
Uncanny Ale - I love the name. You should patent it.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Thanks folks :D

    Toni'sfriend - I have, kind of... ;)
It's the first ale of my wee brewery and home-brewers are very respectful of other folks brewery names and brews so I think it's safe enough for now and yes, I have a good name for my brewery too...

Aye, my wee mammy and her pals are always asking for me for my baking for the various wee WI and church do's that they are involved with. Which is great for me because it means my baking is both appreciated and going to good causes (some my mams pals are great wee bakers themselves).

I think that is so lovely. You must have a great relationship with your Mam.

Been a VERY busy week at work...

A major transitional audit and other project work has left me with almost zero free time.
Thankfully all successfully completed now and I'm looking forward to a weekend that is finally my own.
That means, rest and proper sleep for me

Doing well with my budgets and have had a few NSD's this week :D

Hope everyone is having a good one and hope to catch up with my friends on here later tonight and over the weekend

After a long spell with my local friendly bike mechanic the wee beastie is BACK :D

The problem was the bottom bracket had basically fused itself into the frame and would not come off via conventional methods... So we had to get creative and gently persuade it to part company with the frame... Used a wee worn down Dremmel (sp) disc to cut the fastening cup to shape so that an adjustable spanner could get a grip on it... then hammering out the bracket in the end...
    It Worked :D

Then we had issues with the brake system :(
However, rummaging through the bits box (every decent bike shop should have one) we found a set of compatible HAYES levers (which were also an upgrade of the original ones) and they bunged them on to see if that solved the leaking fluid problems... it did and they gave em me FOC :D

They only charged me for the bottom bracket which was/is great and the wee beastie is doing great.

Tomorrow we'll be going up (and down) the local hills for a good ride.

    Also today... I found in the local charity shops the following;

A wee bread-maker... until I can get my own bread bake attempts to rise properly thistle do me
    The Walking Dead seasons 1 - 4 boxset :D
    BOOKS! loads of em...
    Total spend £10 (Budgeted for ;) )

I am now going to bake some bread and have a cuppa and then catch up with what all you lovely people have been up to
