the bread is now in the tin and proving before baking (approx. 1hr)...
Clearing up the mess (a bit) and on to the Victoria Sponge which I should be able to do before baking the loaf...

The loaf hasn't turned out quite right
...it hasn't risen as much as it should have done... still going to eat it though

One of my friends makes the most amazing maple syrup and ginger cake. She gave me the recipe a couple of years ago. Now I've got a new oven I have no excuse - I'll have to try it. (I over-enthusiastically cleaned my old oven and managed to scrub the numbers off so couldn't see the temperature!)
